Why don't you just admit that you enjoy the depravity depicted in your books.... thats what it really comes down to.

Is their a difference between imagining lustful sex while dreaming and reading about it? That hasn't been answered yet, and where it fit into breaking the commandment against adultery?

Granted, De Sade's life is one long depiction of evil, but the bible does it's share of depicting evil as well.

Also, I prefer examples from the old testament or Judaism, because I noticed, percentage wise, that most people in Ivy League schools are Jewish, not Christian.

Also, does that mean that if a bird poops on my hands, I can go right ahead and eat a sandwich without washing my hands, and still be clean?

Does that mean that reading Marquis De Sade is fine, since his novels came to me from the outside world? Furthermore, since the Bible includes the stories of Lot sleeping with his daughters and other questionable tales, does that mean it is ok?

I just read half of Forbidden Fruit and it's so depraved, it seems much more lustful than actually breaking the biblically defined lust of looking at a women. That's fairly normal at least.
Porn is off limits for a true devouted Christian because it falls under the category of sexual immorality. Porn incites lustful thoughts which essentially is the degradation of a person for ones temporary excitement via viewing body parts , or, creating sexual fantasy thru book reading. Instead of this, we are to have a renewing of our minds and concentrate on things which are PURE, lovely, praiseworthy, of good report, and healthy to our Souls. Its the world and its totally permissible mindset that we must guard against as Christians , for, we have the mind of Christ in us now and want to live for HIM...and not our morally corrupt culture which distorts our sexuality into something for monetary gain and to be used to the careless advantage of Others outside of marriage (IE A mere copulation having no respect for the person...akin to animals of the Forest) .

Recomit your life to Christ in this area and you will be glad you did before it develops into a full blown addiction which always hurts your walk with God. Regards.

How do you know it is immoral? Where is that information? What make it degrade a person?

Seriously, you're entitled to express your views, but what makes this wrong for a loving, committed married couple who just like to look at porn together? What's wrong with that?

I found this, "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If any one loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides for ever."

Logically, why does it matter if we play with our willies? We ejaculate no matter what, and have lustful thoughts while doing so. If my wife or girlfriend read porn I would be glad she wasn't sexually repressed, but if she cheated on me, I would be devastated.

It does feel immoral reading porn, so what you say has validity, nevertheless. Anyone up for answering the dirty hands question?

In order -----

1. Because the Bible instructs that it is.
2. Because when you view a womans nude body parts and fantasize on them, it starts to develop a cheapened view of women within the man . This is one reason why men overall are very disrespectful toward women ...because they arent properly valued at a person having infinite worth and dignity.
3. They arent just my views. They come from the Creator of us all and his views on what is right from wrong are for our own protection and maximized civility within a nation. People are made in the very image of God and not in the image of Forest Animals which operate on instinct without considering whats moral.
4. A married couple viewing Porn is wrong because of Items 1-3 above ..and being married doesnt all of a sudden make it correct and moral. Further, the total connectedness which sexuality brings in a marriage is designed to be between just each other and not involving any other people ...whether in person or thru fantasizing others on a DVD movie. The Creator expects us to live beyond such impurity , immorality, sexual fantasy involving others, et al....and a marriage was meant to reflect the actual nature of relationship within the Godhead .

Ill bet this is highly offensive to you. Am I correct ?

As with all things in the Bible and any book the best thing one can do is try to parse it into reality based conversations and concerns. If your imaginary god friend is a logical being then the logic of its position should be deducible... assuming it exists which I do not.

However try to parse the ramblings of bronze ages peasants as represented in the Bible into real world conversations and concerns. Is there justifiable basis for being anti-porn in general. The answer to me appears to be no.

As with most things there are of course extremes which we can be wary of and conversations about porn generally tend to focus on that from the anti side. But porn itself, just the general concept of it, would appear to be harmless fun with nothing wrong with it.

As such any indictments or postulations or admonishments against it in any book... much less the Bible.... simply to not parse as logical or defensible.

1. Exactly where in the Bible does it mention porn?
2. Not everyone agrees with your attitude that viewing porn causes men to develop a cheapened view of women. You must know a bad class of men. I don't personally know any men who are disrespectful toward women. The men I know treat their wives as equal partners in their marriages. (BTW, does the Bible also forbid the viewing of porn by women? Which verse?)
3. Like I said before, if these views come from God, show us all where those views are documented so we can all learn and understand them the same way you do.
4. What makes it sinful for a married couple to have fun with their sex life?

None of this is offensive to me. It is completely irrelevant what my own personal views are. You are the one that came in here and said porn was immoral and degrading and proscribed by the Bible. I asked you to provide evidence that it was, but you have (so far) failed to do so. No, I'm not offended. You are absolutely wrong.

I think it is too late to warn about the viewing/reading of porn becoming an addiction. People defend their addictions and no amount of scripture or anything else will get through the defenses that they set up. Lust is committing adultery in your heart and I think every Christian and/or following the laws of God knows that so.....................Keep in mind that books/photos like the trash they have now were not known of in Biblical times and too bad that changed!
