Good heavens! What a comparison! That's an awfully wide chasm to be jumping! Apples and oranges. Paul was not talking about all women forever. He was talking about those women, in that church, at that time. They were causing a lot of problems. Thanks to people taking that letter of Paul's out of context, we still have folks trying to make women out to be second-class citizens. No thanks! If I were still going to church, I'd rather go to one with a lady minister/pastor, with some good old-fashioned horse sense, and a strong love of God and people, standing behind the pulpit, than I would with some of the men I have heard in my time, who have the misfortune of being the other part of that horse!

Personally I do not care if the minister is a man or woman, but what I do care about is are they able to help me grow in my spiritual walk. If the answer is yes, then why would I care what their gender is?

I'm not sure how your attitude is conducive to the Lord's Kingdom. There's a right way and a wrong way to state an opinion. Yet again another prime example of why it's so difficult to get lost people to come to Christ.
If you ever wonder why there's atheistic posters that have bad attitudes and cynical views of Christians, take a look at your own witness to the world.

This, hate statement, my friend, is exactly why I left the Church of Christ..However, I will say that not all the men of that church are filled with hate. Most of them are simply following the scriptures as they interpret them, and were otherwise nice people, as long as you never challenge their beliefs or invite them to a different church with you..

Since Reform Judaism is more modern/liberal, do the more traditional sects even acknowledge it?

Hey, no worries... it's a common mistake. To answer your last question, that's a tricky one! They definitely don't give us full respect, and actually make fun of us sometimes (not in a cruel way, necessarily). But when it really comes down to it, we're still recognized as Jews simply by virtue of blood... but many will refer to us as "secular Jews" and so forth. See, even the Jewish people have arguments over denominations.

Because there were...very good point.
As a matter of fact, both Mary and Martha ministered directly to Jesus....among others....

Was this in the Old Testament or the New Testament?
