They deserve only disdain and mockery IMO. The real baffling thing is that there are still twits that believe in the mark of the beast from the 80s technology wise and we are expanding biometrics as that is a technology that uses "god given" marks like fingerprints, iris/eye scans and palm scans.

100% of these twits have cell phones and now the BBM or iSomething and ALL of these can be triangulated and most of these twits (active on the internet) and can be located everytime they log on to whatever social networking site (like this one). Everytime you make a withdrawal at an ATM, it is tracked and recorded.

Why on earth they think a "chip" would enhance this big brother capability that already exists beats me.

This is why they had to go outside their paradigm of bible prophesy as they have effectively run out of dates and predictions that their big book allegedly suggested. 2000 years of failed predictions should tell them that it is NEVER going to happen but folk have so much vested in not wanting to die that they hope in vain for any inkling that this is true. Pretty sad to go through life hoping it will end soon.

Are you kidding? I think that the vast majority of the religious don't even have a good knowledge of their own holy writs, much less that of other religious lunacies. Bibles seem to be often thumped, but seldom read. Unsavory, ludicrous and inconsistent passages are simple ignored.

The same people who fomented all the hysteria about bar codes and other technology are now gleefully swiping their cards at Chick-Fil-A.

That is not a "circle" but a black hole of infinite ignorance

Everybody relax... I read some Nostradamus the other day and apparently some dude named Chyren is going to save us and buy us a few decades of good times before the "Big Flush".

Mayans if anything were predicting a religious or metaphysical miracle on Earth in the future. I agree with this post.

Default A brief bit of "technical alignment"

Re: Seeker's post #21 above, I agree about the loonies and their concerns about being "tracked".

The idea of an implanted chip providing some identifiable location is technical bloo-whooey! Yes, a transmitter device located nearby to you, and with ample transmitting power (say, 50 watts, and at about 100 yds max from you I recall from a documentary on the City of London, England who is actually doing this tracking on a test basis to reduce terrorism, via tracking of people's ID or Passport paperwork with micro-transponders in them) could activate a transponder type device that's inside your neck, let's say, to produce a tiny little digitalized response blip. This happens now with the newest issue of "Smart Cards" that allow you to purchase things by just being near the cash register or gas pump.

But an RF*-based transmitter chip inside you, would itself have to produce at least a watt or 3 of good solid RF power in order to be read even 200 yds away. Or it's need a 100 meter long wire antenna. But for such a chip to be easily read by a satellite, straight up about 350 miles in geosynchronous orbit? You think?

Perhaps if you had an antenna array...

...or something similarly large tethered to a helium balloon you have attached to your noggin? A kinda silly idea, ain't it?

T'ain't no battery in yo-head that could 1) remain charged up, and also then 2) be small enough to fit undetected, yet large enough to produce that sort of milli-Amps of transmitter power. Would it be intermittent, or what? Given no antenna of any size that is. Unless "they" fit you with these of course..

* = Radio Frequency. The only way to transmit and be heard, since a laser, for instance, would require an external portal for that little invisible IR laser to send it's beam out from. Get it?

Not too mention many churches are now installing swipe your card for jesus machines (ATMs) in churches so that they can still rake in the eCash from their hapless victims. If there was a chip of sorts, they would adapt to that technology too.

Really POS (relax touchy theists, that also stands for "point of sale") machines installed at the exits. Next the doors will be tied to it and you can't get out without swiping your card.
