The USE of religion as an EXCUSE to coerce or control others is the antithesis of peace and freedom. The extreme irony of asserting a belief in an Almighty God and then resorting to human enforcement and coercion of this God's wishes is simply mind-boggling. What kind of intellect could EVER credit such an inconsistent rationale? If such a God exists . . . certainly He can do His own enforcement. Why would He need us puny beings to do it for Him? It make NO SENSE whatsoever!!! The very act of trying to enforce God's Will on others using human enforcement renders God IMPOTENT.
So we have radical christians making inflammatory anti muslim videos and muslims using those videos to incite violence and murder.
How are either of these religions peaceful, tolerant and loving again?

Actually, it is no different than people that have resorted to unpeaceful actions for political purposes, economic purposes, ethnic purposes, regional purposes, even for the simple fact of having a favorite sports team.
The bottom line, radicals seem to exist in any area of life and of the world that will convince others to act against those that act or believe differently, mob mentality. With that in mind it is already bias on the OP part to make an all inclusive OP title about religion when the same premises apply to other groups. Take care.

Quite so. it's amazing that the so-called peaceful Muslims or Christians when it's their turn, do not quickly step forward and censure these so-called minority radicals. Why not? I'm quite tired of the typical Islamic commentary about how it's such a peaceful religion, and yet culturally here in the US they all turn a blind eye to the mob-inciting radicals, or to any marches in the streets against US foreign policies, etc. Well, soon enough, given the lack of available funds to send overseas in the future, it will all change.
They will change their tune, even the Israelis, when the taxpayer-funded cash drawer runs dry! After all, we simply cannot fund up all the little tow-bit religiously origented theo-thugocracies in this rapidly disintegrating world!

Just a point to the current Pope being once a Nazi Youth member: That membership was not optional at one point towards the end of zhah vhar! I've known two older men who had that membership distinction. Unruled Freedom equals Chaos....Now Religion is suppose to enter the body through the mind and heart...to control ones freedoms and liberties from becoing Chaotic and detrimental to self and others....without Religion and the practice of it...to the letter of the Law/commandments of God...there is no control...and hence they fall from grace, to kill and be killed, in their unholy sacrifices....
So I say it is not religion to blame...it is those who practice it wrongly, and have been empowered by its positional plateau, to mislead the people, or gain their support in Dollars..(Idol)....and that is their fault.....Put the blame where the blame should go....."Thou shall Not Kill or Murder"....a very important Commandment....So it is actually the opposers of this Law which are to blame....as they do the opposite of the law.
There is no freedom...no liberty....as these things are of the devil.....there is only tending and keeping the Garden...everything else is a path away from that state of bliss (Paradise) we could be making together for the greator good of all living things..., and as some would say slavery...No money required....And if you look at each group, and each nation or kingdom...they all employ the Money ideal ever since ever was, with war!!...wonder why?...Yes another broken commandment.....So what do you expect from people who are guided by wealth and greed?...and using a IDOL told not to?.....and breaking of other commandments ..?....surely Chaos!
So religion is suppose to control that, when all the commandments are practiced in full, by all for all....without breaking any...and doing service in the Garden sowing all seeds, with out misjudging them, or subjecting anything to a false value//IDOL...and using them laws and givens wisely.....Now that is something else being denied, and prohibited in some parts....wonder why?....Oh Yah..so holy Ground cannot be made by a sinless soul , for God to come.

Sirles- Did you really just say freedom is of the devil? Why live if there is no freedom? Life would be pointless. Religion only causes problems as far as I am concerned. It breeds hate and intolerance, even if the person doesn't realize it. Causes way too much death and destruction, and even causes so called "Christians" to be intolerant of anyone not of their religion. It's a joke.
