I have a question about Mormon theology for you. Mormon's believe that Jesus had a ministry in the Americas. My question is when did he go there? Did he go there when he arose up into the skies on Pentecost or did he go to heaven (like most Christian denominations teach) and come to the Americas later.
The Book of Mormon doesn't specify exactly when it was. My understanding is that it would have been after He ascended into heaven (after his 40-day psot-resurrection ministry in the Old World).
Actually, we generally have either two or three speakers. We almost never have just one. On the week the returned missionary spoke, there were actually two speakers scheduled. The missionary unfortunately took far more than his allotted time and the other speaker (from the stake high counsel) ended up with about five minutes. I can't even remember what he talked about.
Yes, Ive never been to a sacrament meeting with just one speaker, but I have been to some that have had several...up to 5-6 or more(families with kids, kids will bear their testimony and parents will give talks-Tongan wards do that a lot actually).

Thanks, I was always under the impression that he started his ministry in the Americas after he rose on Pentecost.
Whether one believes in the Golden Plates or not I've always appreciated Joseph Smith's acknowledgement that an old world Ministry only excludes so many people living on other parts of the earth.
Well, you can always ask questions and see how far you get. I think you'd be surprised. There are very few topics I would avoid discussing on a public forum. Maybe I should mention, though, that I am far more likely to respond with a comprehensive, truly informative answer to questions of a respectful nature than I am to hostile, confrontational ones. For instance, "Why do some Mormons wear a different kind of underwear than the rest of us?" is pretty much guaranteed to result in a more productive dialogue than "Tell us about your magic undies," is.
Too funny, whatever it means.
Rest assured I've no intention of being that personal.
Mormon Leaders disagree on what 'The Face' of Mormonism is.
So Mormonism can have more than One-Face?
Who knew? Umm, me?
Really can't be mad at me now, can ya?
People with obvious hatred and contempt for ANY group are known as bigots. There can never be anything godly or loving about that. Mormons believe on Christ and follow Him in "love of God and each other." That is the only Face that matters to be considered Christians. Everything else is human vanity and hubris, period.
