I can't help but notice all the answers appear to be from a Christian perspective.
Injecting an Islamic view.
There is no requirement to pray in a specific place. Where ever we choose to pray is our Mosque. We have 5 obligatory prayers we must say daily. They need not be said in any particular building. However, all adult males in good health and of sound mind are to pray the Friday Jummah as a community. but that need not be a specific building. That can be done anyplace they agree to meet for prayer. If one were to deliberately preplan to miss Jummah it might be considered a sin, but that is between the individual and Allaah(swt)
With Christianity churches which are anointed of the Holy Spirit will have stars of golden candlesticks which are angels for Jesus churches from Revelations 1:20 , So God is keeping tabs on who is in church and who is sleeping at home ........ So God sees who is worshiping Him , and who is humble
