Correction....atheists believe in themselves as their god. The rest of us realize that there is someone above us. Atheism is the epitome of arrogance.
This is just more baseless nonsense from you. Typical. And in itself quite arrogant.
I have yet to meet a single nonbeliever who feels that humans are the pinnacle of life or that there is nothing to life, reality or existence beyond what we currently know or can comprehend with out basic senses.
If anything, the Christian idea that humans are the "crown of creation" and therefore have some innate significance and meaning is far more arrogant and groundless.
Or, on the other hand, we're open-minded enough to consider that God exists...
But only the one specific god you personally believe in, with all the attributes you grant him.
Are you open minded enough to consider that Zeus, Vishnu, Ra or Odin exist? Why not?
Think about why you don't believe in any gods other than Yahweh. Then you might come to see why some of us go one god further and don't believe in yours.

No. God is the ultimate God...there is no room for multiple deities. He created everything, and the rest don't exist...they're idols.

You know, there is a symbolism to your responses. They are usually short, one or two sentences, dogma-tic and said in a "matter-o-fact" tone. This is often in response to some well thought out, logical, reasoned post where some go out of their way to "break it down." The contrast is very telling, imho.

Correction....atheists do not believe in the god concept as a whole. Therefore it is impossible that they perceive themselves as god. Those that perceive themselves as god are Pantheists, who believe that god is in everything of nature and the Universe.
I'm not an atheist so that makes me (according to your authoritive post) one of the 'rest of us' - who believe that there is 'someone' above us...BUT...I do not believe that either.
And for being a Christian, you are incredibly judgmental in calling atheists arrogant.
Judgment in your religion is God's job, let him do it and be true to your religion if you are going to preach it.
In regards to Isis, Osirus and Horus. I have always had an issue with the current telling of this family dynamic.
'Technically' Horus is not the son of Osiris. Osiris's penis was lost when he was dismembered by Set. Isis could not find it when she gathered the body parts so she made a penis from gold. It is the gold penis that impregnates Isis. Also, those that use the older myths for the 'plagerism' argument say that Horus died and was ressurected, but that is not so. His 'father' was the one that died (dismembered and spread across Egypt) and his sister-consort, put him back together, brought him back to life.
Quite a bit of the stuff I read online is a mix-up of Horus and Osiris, to make it fit their argument. Reader beware.

Au contraire. Atheists don't believe they're so special that someone is watching over them, listening to their pleas, maintaining lists of their transgressions and keeping a special place in the afterlife for them, where they can gambol about with the angels.
There's some arrogance for you.

How could Yahweh be part of the Divine Council (of gods) if there are no other gods? Yahweh receives Israel as his inheritance from El Elyon. Also, Yahweh executes judgment against the other gods. So, yes, they were believed to exist (in as much as they believed Yahweh to have existed).

You are, by and large, the single most arrogant person on these boards. You habitually make up nonsense about what other people believe (arrogantly deciding others' beliefs for them) and then never answer questions posed to you (arrogantly assuming you're beyond answering questions.)
Vizio: "Wah, atheists are so closed-minded because they won't even possibly consider that my god is the true god. They are therefore logically inferior."
Any logical person: "Well, have you considered that maybe Vishnu is the one true god?"
Vizio: "Of course not! Everyone knows that all other gods are idols and it is supreme foolishness to even possibly consider them to be true. Now quit being so closed-minded and accept Jesus as the one true god, tut tut."
