we are not body's that possess soul's but rather soul's that posses body's

some people even feel excrutiating pain in those lost limbs-but yeah your right if you chop off any part of the body it wont take away from you.

The question of afterlife and the belief in a god must be posed as two separate questions. There is much evidence that nothing dies but it continues to evolve. We live in a biosphere where all mater is in a continuous evolving state. Whether we have a soul or energy that stays united after the body dies is the underlying question. I do believe that our soul or energy does continue on after the body has died but it is conditional. I do not believe that this can be done with a belief in a religious belief but must be an individual search. That is an inner search and studying many different spiritual systems. No one person can have or follow the same system just their own heart. And even if someone does prove it to themselves they cannot prove it to anybody else. The question of whether there is a god is a lot harder to find an answer to.
