I watched the movie just to see what the big problem was. Now, I see, it was the dumbest movie that I have seen. If you have children, don't allow them to see this mess.

Oh. I get it. Shawn just rented it. That's why Golden Compass is back.

Movie's not bad, but have your kids read the book instead. Reading's better for them anyway and it's far better than the movie.

Naw, I wouldn't waste my money on a worthless movie like that.

It's no worse than Passion of the Christ. Why does the flock of the faithful have such a problem with it just because it is expressing an atheistic view rather than a god centered perspective. If believers are so strong in their beliefs(as they claim to be) then they wouldn't be having such a problem with it. Are they afraid their beliefs will disolve if they watch it.

I thought the movie was awesome, and we even got the Xbox game. I also did let my child watch it. She enjoyed the movie, and the video game, also. Once she's old enough to read a book of that length, I'll hand over the whole trilogy to her.

Why not let the kids watch it? Are you afraid they might learn to think for themselves?

No, because the movie is pointless to me.

...so is "White Chicks" but I wouldn't post a thread warning people not to see it.

Instead of pretending to dismiss the movie based on its quality, just admit that you're scared of having an Atheist C.S. Lewis. We've all read your posts.

The only problem with the movie is they stripped the story of all of its spiritual meat in order to pander to the conservative P.C. crowd.

Read the book. It's worth it.

I was very skeptical when it first came out but then I watched it with my son and it was actually a pretty good movie. I have always taught my son that most movies are not real and they are based on what someone elses imagination has conjured up. He didn't have a problem with the beliefs of the writer because he knows about God and he didn't let it interfere with his beliefs.
