I quit listening after guy-in-baseball-cap called someone (presumably a Catholic he doesn't like) "infantile and childish" since I think all the anti-Catholic rhetoric is just that. I was going to give baseball-cap-guy five minutes. Once he started name-calling at less than a 90 seconds in I knew it was just more bashing and not worth wasting band width.
I'm beginning to think Catholic bashing is more important to the IFB's than Jesus of Nazareth.

As of 2001 it is estimated that there are approximately 33,000 Protestant denominations.
The World Christian Encyclopedia by David B. Barrt, George T. Kurian, and Todd M. Johnson (2001 edition)
I think it say's there are 9000 Protestant denominations in the world. Not 33,000. It also says there are 242 Catholic denominations in the world. You must remember they count each country as a new denomination within the same denomination. So if a denomination had churches in all 238 country's they cover then it would count that single denomination as 238 and not one.
The encyclopidia places the so-called denomination all within "6 major ecclesiastico-cultural mega-blocs".
So if you claim this encyclopedia shows 33,000 Protestant denominations then your are just making it up.

I already said mia culpa. There are 9K protestants (mainstream) and 22K independent. I was off by 2k.
But, the good news is that you have learned something new today.

There's nothing more ritualistic than a Protestant Sunday morning church service.
First some sort of invocation; then lots of hymn singing with a ragtag band of 4-5 musicians; then a $$$'s collection; a few more songs; the "highlight" a sermon by the senior pastor; an altar call; closing song and invocation and then dismissal, "Go in peace".
I don't know what Protestants do or why it has anything to do with the topic. Who are these Protestants you refer to? Are you one?
You know that is misleading. You are leaving out another 22,000 denominations.
Not at all. You are trying to lump the 22,000 non-Protestant churches into the 9000 Protestants that are those who divided from the Roman church . I am just not mixing the Protestants and non-protestants and staying true to how they report it. But you also must realize what they call a denomination. There are really only 6 religious groups that they identify after all. And they count each country a denomination in as a separate denomination. So you must admit the Roman church is a separate denomination in each country it has churches if you are going to use this as a basis to show division.
As of 2011 the number of Christian denominations is 41,000. And i will be the first to admit that a couple of hundred are variation is Catholicism according to country of origin.
The number is not really important. The massage is that the bible is interpreted differently by most folks.

The only "tabernacle" Jesus reside in is the believer, not a building. So why only do it in that building?
