It is my belief that all living things have a spirit and when their time comes whether naturally or at the hands of others they will cross over into the next world. For those who do not believe that animals have a spirit, animals could say the same for you and in some cases they would be right.

I am only certain that what is of love will be there. I have no information or way to know about anything else.

How does not believing an idea about an immaterial essence called a spirit make someone any less of a person?

Ok.... maybe it's because I'm not a native Marylander.

Roman Catholics, such as myself, believe that animals do not have a rational soul, and therefore are unable to make the moral decisions necessary to attain the reward of Heaven. This ability to differentiate between right and wrong separates humans from animals, and confines salvation to humans. Animals act purely on their biological instincts.

All life depends on death. All things that have lived in the past have returned their nutrients back to the soil so that they can be reused again by new living things. That is the cycle of life and death. It would be interesting to know about the previous life of where some of those nutrients in our bodies came from. But, they are only bits and pieces of what was once whole. For some though, being a part of the cycle of life and death is not enough to calm their fears.

I think heaven would really suck if there were no pets up there. So yes, I believe that I will see all my pets up in heaven when I die.
