Hi everyone

I'm just curious as to how people's faiths affect these questions.

Is it the responsibility of the rich to give a greater portion to take care of the poor?

Should it be required of them?

If you are a person of little means other than care of yourselfwould voting to require the rich to pay into a system to assist the poor be considered helping to take care of the poor? (think of the parable of the sheep and the goas that Christ told)

Should poor married people be allowed to have children (not a lot, just one, maybe two)

Is it possible for the economy to expect people to work too hard? If so at what point are we overworking people so they can provide for their families?

In terms of our culture/civilization, have we advanced to a point where health care should be a right?

Do you think the divorce rate is potentially a result of economics (high cost of living and low income), and/or lack of time together (each person has to work odd hours and they see little of each other?

Would God want us to create government policies that help each other, or leave each other alone to compete and make it or fail on their own?

Yes I lean to the left and I have my own opinions (to be fair I'd be willing to allow abortion to be restricted or even outlawed if we had really good social safety nets and avenues for advancement besides a 90 hour work week coupled with school), but I really want to hear the opinions of others, especially the right wing people.

Merry Christmas

No.

No

No... and please provide Chapter and verse when quoting the Bible.

Yes... as many as they wish.

Quote:

No... but I don't really understand the question.

see above answer

No. I hold fast to the idea if health care is a right then culture/civilization would have the "right" to make us follow a life style that the health care system outlines.
I believe in access to health care... but not a "right". Rights come with a flip side. Carefully examine what that might be.

Partially...... but no. Do you think for a moment when the pioneers moved west and settled the land ....they had "free time"? and worked "normal" hours? or had money?

No. That is communism... or at best socialism. A man made system of rule that has failed.

No. Let me explain my thinking. IMO... God does not want government to interfere with His plans. If government "enables" people, they will do the rest. God wants for all to experience His blessings, but does expect government to provide for civil authority.
