In my 30s I was crazy for Christ. Now I am just focused. My thought is the OP is only speaking from his personal experience.

True just personal experience.

Reason the question began with "Do us..."

Wondering about the experiences of others

I do not fear death as time here gets shorter and shorter I just look forward to a new adventure because I believe life is eternal except for this body of flesh that dies, the spirit/soul within lives on.

Sometimes I sit and ponder the mysteries of life, and sometimes I just sit. How old do I have to be to qualify as a grumpy old man? I'm closing in on 64 right now.

If you've told someone to get off your lawn... you're in the club. If you've turned on the sprinklers you're eligible to be Secretary-Treasurer. If you've said "No! You can't have your ball back!!" and slammed your front door you'll be voted President by acclimation.

=Woodrow LI;34764170]Do us old timers tend to become more religious as we get older?

When I was much younger it always struck me that the older a person was the more religious they seemed to be. I used to assume it was because they knew that their days were numbered and they wanted to verify their future travel plans.

Now I am part of the older generation. Yes, I do practice my religion more that I did in my younger years.

I attribute it more to my having the time to do so, not because of more awareness of death. I have always felt every person is just one heart beat away from death.

Now what is my incentive for practicing?

Perhaps because in this stage of life, I finally have the time reflect more fully upon it. I have less concerns and needs for the physical aspects of life. My values and needs have changed.

My main concern is that I do not make a pest of myself when I'm around youngsters under the age of 60.
The Ones who MAKE IT to heaven do

Heaven, hell and Purgatory are VERY real my friend

God Bless you,

To me, I'm able to just look back over my life, the lives of others, all the events and I see the "theme" of God and can better understand how it all comes together. "OK, now I see."
