Many people will probably see different things in these verses. But to me personally, it sounds like Paul is saying that Sabbath was symbolically pointing to Jesus and now we don't need to keep it, now that Jesus has come and gone... because Sabbath was a shadow (aka: symbol) of Jesus and salvation (but reality has come true already in Christ).

And no one should judge each other, regardless of whether they follow Sabbath or not. Anyways, that's what it sounds like to me here:

Col 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.
Col 2:17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

One might ask why the Book of Acts has so many accounts of Paul attending synagogue on the Sabbath and going down by the river to pray on the Sabbath when there was no synagogue.

The seventh-day Sabbath was always referred to as the Sabbath. There are 24 words for "the" in Greek and one of them was always used with the seventh-day Sabbath. "A sabbath" on the other hand, referred to any of seven feast days in the Jewish calander and these were more like holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, ect. and were connected with the Jewish Temple Service which God Himself declared at an end by tearing the Veil in the Temple from top to bottom at the time of Jesus' death on the cross. Turn to the last chapter of the book of Exodus and you will find the floor plan for the Tabernacle. Take a piece of paper and put down where everything was located. Now let's begin at the entrance to the Outer Court and draw a line as we walk through the Sanctuary.

First we come to the Altar of Burnt Offering. They did not simply stab the lamb, throw it on and burn it. The animal had to be cut up and the pieces arranged and so our lives need to be broken up and re-arranged for God's service. The animal also had to be skinned. You may not be aware of this, but wool is fireproof and very difficult to burn and we're covered with opinions and beliefs that need to be removed before God can work in our lives.

Next we come to the Laver made of brass mirrors. Here the priests washed the blood from their hands even as we must have our sins washed away for we have slain the innocent Lamb of God who became Sin for us.

Up against the Veil was the Altar of Incense which symbolized our prayers ascending to Heaven. To one side was the Seven Branched Candlestick and to the other the Table of Shewbread. Jesus is the Light of the World and the Bread of Life.

Beyond the Veil was the Ark of the Covenant. It was made of accacia wood. The accacia is a gnarled and twisted tree that grows in the desert where trees are not supposed to grow just as we are warped by this world of sin. It was necessary to take such usable lengths as could be found and join them together and so the Carpenter of Nazareth must do with us. Within were the Ten Commandments written with God's finger and a pot of mana to symbolize that God will place His Law in our hearts and He will sustain us with His Word. The Ark was then covered with gold and its humble origin forever hid just as He will do to us. This is a great mystery into which the angels long to look and so two cherubim were placed looking down upon the Ark.

There is a Reason I said you should write this down on paper and draw a line as you walk through the Sanctuary. Look back on the path you have traced. You will see that the Sanctuary was laid out in the form of a Cross. Place Jesus on that Cross. Each item of furniture occures where one of His wounds was at. His feet were nailed where the Altar of Burnt Offering was located. Next was the Laver where blood and water flowed from His side. According to the last chapter of Exodus this was the last item of furniture Moses set up and this was the last wound Christ recieved. The Table of Shewbread and the Candlestick were where His hands were nailed. The Altar of Insence was where He wore the crown of thorns and prayed, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." Above that was the sign "The King of the Jews" which was where the Ark of the Covenant was at where God meets man.

atheism is a religion as in "ism" it's a belief That the wholly Sabbath does not visit us once week. Of course it does silly !

satanism - that's just comedy, we are legion for we are many .... I am sorry, but we are the legions of my lord G-d himself. you were saying ?

Then you have theoretical physicists trying to fantasize of a world that does not obey that laws of the lord that G-d. They are not very successful either.

teach the creation wrong, like literal bible teachings do, and the creator becomes wrong, the sabbath becomes a waste of time for the thinker in christ.

we live in a battle of belief statements ... neither are correct.

I see nothing linking a belief in the Creator or in Shabbat with a disbelief in education. My religion highly values education and achievement.

Sabbath is only a requirement for Israel. Jewish people are not Israel, and they are not keeping proper Sabbath. They keep Sabbath for whatever deity they're serving. Real Israel has forgotten the Sabbath and feast days, and until they remember the covenant, the world will continue to be <<bleep>>. All these holidays are conveniently around the real Sabbath days, which are unknown to most, and they were implemented to throw true Israel's sense of time off. All things are in sync with nature. When Israel is imbalanced, so is nature.

So two-thirds of the world are religious but we are 'dominated' by atheists?

A good 89% of us attended Public Schools which taught Science and Evolution every year and 10% attended religious schools that taught Theistic Evolution--which is the same Evolution everybody else learned but we were told God had guided it. I went to Public School and got A's and B's in Science without ever studying or taking notes because I listened well in class and read the subject for fun. I knew Darwin's Theory of Evolution inside and out and in 10th grade spotted an error in my cousin's College textbook that described LaMark's Theory of Evolution as Darwin's.

Ultraviolet radiation is needed to form amino acids. But just as the same stove that cooks the food can burn the food if left on too long continued ultraviolet radiation will destroy the amino acids. This is solved by assuming the amino acids rained down into the primeveal ocean and the water blocked the ultraviolet radiation. But water disolves the chains of amino acids that form proteins needed for life. Thus, the two things necessary to get life started combine to prevent it from starting.

According to the strata in the Grand Canyon, that part of the Earth was around for the Cambrian Epoch, but it must have climbed into a time machine because there are no fossils for the next hundred million years, then it reappeared but it seems to have vanished two hundred fifty million years ago for there are no fossils from then till now.

We know that dinosaurs survived into historic times for our ancestors wrote about them. But our ancestors did not call them dinosaurs. They called them dragons.

If life evolved we should be able to dig anywhere and come up with fossils from each epoch. Instead, fossils from each epoch tend to appear only in certain areas. Is this not much like what we see in the world today with certain plants and animals found in certain areas and seldom venturing from their ecological niche? So the fossil epochs were separated from each other not by millions of years but by millions of inches. They were burried by Noah's Flood and the floodwaters washed out carbon-14 making the fossils appear millions of years old.

The Flood began when an asteroid struck halfway between the North Pole and Alaska. The crater it left is the Arctic Ocean while the shock of impact bulged out Antarctica. The earth's crust was shattered into tectonic plates. After the Flood there was high humidity. The destablized Earth's crust produced many volcanoes the erruptions of which reduced sunlight causing the humidity to become snow and producing the Ice Age. Science has no explaination for what caused the Ice Age, but it would be the expected result of Noah's Flood.
Ye gods! I hope you aren't home-schooling your children.
