How would the world be different? Would another religion dominate Europe and spread to the new world? Would Judaism be more prominent? Would Islam have arisen without the bible?
I suspect there would be less blood shed throughout history. But I guess that would depend on what, if any, belief system took root and grew in Christianity's place.
People shed blood even without the Bible
How many thousands of North Koreans are dead or dying because of wickedness?
How many people died under Stalin's regime?
How many of his own people did Pol Pot kill?
Human history is bloody even in places where the Bible was not in circulation
Gandhi once wrote this about the Bible in relation to Christianity, “You Christians look after a document containing enough dynamite to blow all civilisation to pieces, turn the world upside down and bring peace to a battle-torn planet. But you treat it as though it is nothing more than a piece of literature.”
It's what people do with the information in it... either giving it lip service or using it as a means to advance their own agendas... that is the problem...The early disciples spread Christianity, before it was co-opted by corrupt political powers, without resorting to the sword.

You are right. The Bible is not to blame for human warfare, violence and cruelty. It does not do anything like enough to make it any better, though, and far from enough to offset the conflicts that are fuelled or justified if not caused by religious conflicts.
Your arguments re. Stalinist states are well taken - getting rid of religion will not in itself rid humanity of war and violence, though I do see many of the reasons that perpetuate conflicts disappearing. But we do need to think more rationally not instinctively.

Reason: so soo me.
I think we would have forums members screaming that we should be worshipping many gods, instead of one. Christians took some of the pagan beliefs, just to get the pagans to join their newly man-made religion.
I think in most cases it probably happened naturally, as legacy religions in an area were assimilated gradually over time.
I think it more likely that it was a deliberate policy. Instead of the furry dancers doing round a stone circle, they should do it in the churchyard - after they've participated in a service.
If they want to worship the baby Horus in Isis' knee, they won't do it at the temple of Isis, which has now been turned into a basilica. Same statue, same title 'Star of the sea'. Different religion.
