Check out St. Paul's epistle to the Colossians. The spiritual circumcision is baptism, begun almost 2,000 years ago. There is no future event waiting to happen to fulfill this.

If you read the Bible, the land from the Euphrates to the Mediternean sea, and from southern Turkey to the Sinai desert was given to the "descendants" of Abraham. Since Hagar and Ishmael were banished from the land, Ishmael's descendants settled and created many "nations" in what's now pretty much the entire Middle East. So Ishmael and his descendants made out pretty good.

If you read one part of the Bible, yes.

But what else does the Bible say? You have to read the whole book, not just one part.

That isn't too far off from the logic of, "If God meant for man to fly, He'd have given us wings."

The Canaanites were a semitic peoples as well, as were the Akkadians, Assyrians, Amorites, the Edomites and Moabites, Phoenicians, Hebrews, and Arabs of the region(as well as others). The term "Semite" is derived from the eldest son of Noah, "Shem".

reading this thread further convinces me that many are obsessed with dirt.
the "holy land" is just land, terra ferma.
how people of God can justify the torture, killing, and cruelty to fellow human beings for the sake of exclusive rights to dirt is baffling to me.

Folks over there have been killing each other over that patch of desert for thousands of years.

It's ridiculous, stupid, inhuman, arrogant, violent, and immoral on *all* sides.

Both claim to be peaceful religions, but both have murdered countless millions of people over thousands of years. It is abhorrent and the entire situation is an abomination that all people should be embarrassed and ashamed of.
