Great video. One day these religious cavemen will crawl out from the under their boulder of mental slavery and bigotry, and join the rest of the enlightened Great White North - where the Guns, God and Glory mentality are nothing to be proud of.

No they won't. It's an illness, arguably a diagnosable psychiatric disorder. Most of them will never change, because they literally can not see the world as it really is. They can only see it as their pastor tells them the bible says it is. They're simply incapable of seeing anything that conflicts with that.

After a year or so here and seeing that mindset exhibited on an everyday basis, I'm inclined to agree.
Facts cannot penetrate fundamentalist mind shields.

Come visit me in Kentucky. It won't take a year to convince you. I live in a place where people speak openly about the "dangers of education," and nod their heads solemnly and chant "praise god" when the concept is mentioned. It's like living in a Stephen King novel; it doesn't take long in this kind of culture before you want to run screaming in terror whenever someone starts talking about the glory of god.

We CAN change. I'm a walking witness of this. I once like this dude, but you are correct, when you are in that state you really CANNOT see the world as is. Everything is filtered through the lens of their narrow fundamentalist views. 10 years removed from all of that nonsense and I feel so relieved even though I practically lost a good few years chasing pipe dreams and being lost in a fog while the real world sailed by.
