This is called "The Problem of Evil"... it's an age old reason of why a loving, capable God can't exist. It was only most properly answered by Leibniz, with his idea that This is God's Best, this "best of all possible worlds."
Oddly, when I look at human behavior I don't have these doubts, it is only when I look at other animals, and I think it is because they represent the natural order of things more so than humans...if that makes any sense.
I should also add that I do believe in evolution, and I find all the different species of animals and how they evolved and continue to evolve very fascinating, but I also do believe in God so that is why this makes no sense to me.
It probably makes no sense to you because you do not understand why your god made the world as it is.
Accept that the world you see around you is exactly the kind of world that your god wanted to create. Otherwise, he would have made the world differently.
Your should accept the world as it is and try to decide how to live your life the way you want to. The Golden Rule is a good place to start. Next, watch this video.

Yes, like the idea that animals don't have a supposed free-will like "we do." They never "sinned" yet are cursed to suffering just like us. But human behavior is always "excused" thorough ideas about universal justice and free-will.
One of the few times I question God and say what the heck is when I think about the animals that hunt for food.
When I was little I used to watch nature programs and I could never watch the parts where one animal was attacking/killing another for food. I find all animals to be fascinating and beautiful, and I know that in order to survive that is what some must do, but I would think an all all loving, peaceful God would not create creatures that have to kill other creatures to survive.
I have also read that the Bible states that humans are to eat animals for food. Is this correct? If this is true then that is also very disturbing to me.
Ashley, you along with others need to attend a good bible study because you are all over the place with your reasoning, you won't find that studying here unfortunately.

Per the Bible, God tortured and killed all of the animals on Earth, except for a pair (or seven) of each with a global flood. So, why would it surprise you that he would advocate that humans eat animals for food?

I do wonder why certain things are in the Bible, but I also know that it is not the true word of God and the stories were written by men, so it is not as important to me as what happens in the real world.
Now if the God that is in the Bible is the real God, the kind of God that would kill people and animals off and tell humans to hunt and kill, then that would be sad. I don't think that is the real nature of God though.

Have you ever studied the Bible to see why God sent the flood?
