OK, so you know there is a God and you know there is no loss of consciousness. While you may disagree on the details you are pretty certain in knowing there is a God and there is something after this. Fine. There is still a dilemma...how do I write this...you know you are lucky to be alive but luck suggests uncertainty and it's that uncertainty that creates the dilemma.
Here is what I mean.
1. Was God inevitable? Had God not been who he was at the time he was we may have never existed as we are now. That's a problem.
2. Are we inevitable? Bringing it down to us, did our parents not copulate at the exact split second they did we may have never existed. That's a problem.
3. Is all life inevitable? Is it luck to exist and anything that does not exist may never exist or is it more that we are all meant to exist.
Some Buddhists, who are known to think about these things, have the concept of Dharma state where all life that was ever meant to exist has existed even if not in its present form and no new life will ever exist except what comes from this Dharma state. I'm not a fan of the idea because it sounds akin to predestination.
The only conclusion I have draw is a concept I call Random-Certainty. Granted it may not be correct but it helps me conceptualize things. Random-Certainty means that while the time of my existence may be Random the fact that a conscious life like myself would exist is certain at some point in time is certain. So, I would inevitably exist so long as there is no end to time, maybe not now but at some point.
Chime in with any thoughts.
