Jesus taught his true followers would be no part of this world, and they would be hated for it. Being no part of this world obviously makes one way different than most. The true followers of Jesus listen to his voice
Matt 6:33-- Therefore, keep on seeking -FIRST- the kingdom and his( Jehovah) righteousness and all these other things will be added( sustenance, covering, spirituality)
So then you are saying listening to Jesus is the wrong path then? how sad for you.
Not a single actual writer of the NT ever saw Jesus.
We have nothing that was written by Jesus(a.s.) nor anythingg written by an actual witness. The NY was written by Greek scribes with no evidence of their sources. The oldest known NT scriptures are found in the 3rd and 4th Century Papyrus,
Leviticus 16:29 “This is to be a perpetual statute for you. In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you must humble yourselves and do no work of any kind, both the native citizen and the foreigner who resides in your midst, 16:30 for on this day atonement is to be made for you to cleanse you from all your sins; you must be clean before the Lord.
There are other supporting verses in other books, but the point is that on Yom Kippur the High Priest makes a special sacrifice in accordance with the rituals in the Temple and..... Voila! Presto! Shazam! Abracadabra!
....everyone is cleansed of their sins.
So why Jesus?
You don't need Jesus. All you need is for the High Priest to perform the ritual.
If the word of god is worth a damn, then as an Atheist all I have to do is laze around on Yom Kippur Day and I'm cleansed of all my sins.
Perpetually...
You can ignore it, since it is unproven and flawed, and nothing more than wishful thinking.
A study on NDEs would require a control group, a group of people who had been born and raised in the complete absence of religion, which would be difficult to do.
You'd need to keep them sequestered and isolated so that they are not contaminated. That means you'd have to censor books, films, television and music to eliminate any mention of any god-things, religions, bibles, after-life, religious symbols etc etc etc.
So then you are saying listening to Jesus is the wrong path then? how sad for you.

Amen, Wood. The major problem with the Bible is its “sausage-making” creation. It is essentially a compilation of claims about God many of whose authors are unknown. The suspected provenance of the writings is all over the place and not remotely contemporaneous with the events reported. The reports disagree with each other on many important details and contradict ANY absolute standard of morality supposedly contained in it. We haven’t the foggiest idea what the real intent and methodology of the writings were and the reasons for inclusion or exclusion of the various writings are insufficiently explained and justified anywhere. The point is we can't get anything useful from such a compilation of ancient writings by pretending that God magically prevented human ignorance and superstition from influencing them.

Yeah...surely the claims of Internet Mystics are more reliable...

God saw everything Jesus did and said--He inspired the words--and yes Catholicism destroyed the originals. So no one could see this rise up( 2Thess 2:3) and then be turned into this( Mark 3:24-26)
Following the example of Jesus isn't necessarily a wrong path.
But the one Jehovah Witnesses walk, is.
That's strange--they are the only teachers on earth who actually teach -ALL- of Jesus truths--have you found others--I haven't--I attended many different trinity religions in my search--not one of them taught what Jesus taught.
