For those of you who do not remember John Lennon... the lyrics from "Imagine" cantained these very thoughs. He was murdered... it is no surprise that the depravity of man will always reveal and take control of those who are most vunerable... not the humble or gentle, but vunerable and weak, there is a difference.

It will always be... and has always been ... a battle for the soul. What good is it to gain the whole world and loose your soul? Look at those who are weak and vunerable... break the body, break the soul and it's easy.... but the humble and gentle have strength beyond themselves... break the body and the soul survives. Early Christian's have left a legacey of survivability which is not of man but of the armor of truth.

So the question then becomes; not what or how evil will manifest itself? but to be ready ... and prepare defend yourself.

For those who remember the Maginot line, a mighty defensive structure built to withstand the strongest army... but the planners of this giant defensive fortress forgot armies do not come straight at you... they come from many angles... so the Marginot line was taken over by a 8 man platoon because the planners of this "impenetrable defensive line" did not think it necessary to have guns that could turn. Go figure!

Remember... intellect protects your mind... truth protects your soul.

A world without religion. Aaah, just what that atheist Dawson would like and believes will solve wars. We would just have other things to fight about, greed, race, likes, dislikes. At least with a God there is hope in the world. Perhaps an atheist has his own hopes as to an afterlife, although just being dead doesn't do much for me, but neither does hell.

We as nonbelievers do not have faith that in an afterlife to make everything better, that our suffering now will be rewarded then.

No, instead of focusing on the afterlife, we focus on this life. We try to make it as good as possible, but... that is for us and daydream is for the believers, no?

After traveling through the many hells of various religious organizations I have come to the same conclusion as you. While I do believe that we have a soul I don't believe in a hell or in any reward system as in heaven. So like you I beileve in enjoying this life on earth and being good towards others.

Having no religions or divided religions or united religions give the same result.
Because whatever the message man does a variable job of living what they teach.
So my answer to the post, is that it would not make a huge difference, as the Light of Christ is in all, and all have the freedom to choose to follow it or not.

freedom
It is dangerous to be too intelligent, too jaded.
Seen it all
When an intelligent man talks to me about the supposedly tainted gift of Christ
I choose to suspend/ deny/ renounce that poisonous aspect of myself
What intelligent master of masochism in times previous made you ?

There is God---the infiite!!!
The one
The greater one----greater than you!!! s****** s****** lol
I really hate taking a journey through the heads of non-believers!!!
God is love

I would tell some of these cruel teachers to move on
There must be a distorted world somewhere else
where they could be welcome?
But I doubt it--not really

god promises us

Beyond every small dream of man

There is a possibility

The infinite is

Finite beings that we are---seek where you will
God?
The infinite?
the true love of consciousness?

The world would be better off without people fighting over who is right and who is wrong.
If people lived good lives and stopped worrying about their religion so much, the world would be a better place.
