Legal marriage gives all sorts of rights and protections. I think a good case could be made that each person can only share those legal rights and protections with one other person at any given time.

However, if you want to claim polygamy violates "God's plan", you don't have a leg to stand on.

The same religious group that practiced polygamy rallied against same sex marriage, remember the Mormons?

I am still waiting for an explanation of how providing information without any opinion is hateful and bigotry. I feel like I was hit by a cheap shot artist.

He will be denied. He can appeal, and go through the judicial system all the way to the Supremes. He will be denied over and over again.

It should take him about fifty or sixty years to change the hearts and minds of the culture. He may or may not get his desires at that point. He should start a GoFundie page to support himself, and his harem of women. Or, he can support them and love them without cultural and legal acceptance.

If he is really dedicated to this end, he should get on that. He should stop blaming others for his actions. The Gays made me do it, will not cut it in a court of law.

It only took about 10 years for gay people. And now the precedent has been set to allow people to marry in a deviant way simply for happiness.

Except that God created Adam and Eve...not Adam and Eve and Ethel.

Funny...but all the gay rights advocates told us we were bigoted and that we were arguing a slippery-slope argument.

We saw this one coming a mile away. It's polygamy now....what's next? It won't stop here. You start messing with the definition of marriage that has been used for thousands of years...and it's anything-goes.

Google same sex marriage in medieval times and you may find that your definition of marriage is not as consistent as you think. Hope posting this doesn't make me a bigger bigot in your judgment. Nay, I really couldn't care what your opinion of me is.

10 years?

I'm pretty sure that 1972 (Baker V Nelson) was longer than 10 years ago.

And yet God set down laws on how to treat your second, third, etc wives. And even gave David multiple wives.
Why would you claim that he is against it?

Yeah, why should anyone get married simply to bring themselves happiness?

I guess happiness is a sin in Calvinism.
