Funny...but all the gay rights advocates told us we were bigoted and that we were arguing a slippery-slope argument.
We saw this one coming a mile away. It's polygamy now....what's next? It won't stop here. You start messing with the definition of marriage that has been used for thousands of years...and it's anything-goes.
The powers that be should start, if they haven't already, establishing regulations/ restrictions about how the rights that are conferred to a spouse are to be restricted to a primary spouse or divided up between multiple spouses.
Until that's done, no civil license can reasonably be expected to be granted.
Other than that hurdle, so what?
Did you read the article? It specifically said that because of the ruling last week he is asking for "equality".
Did you not realize that polygamists have been trying to get polygamy legalized since it was first banned?
I wish them luck. But removing the restriction on the sex of the two people getting married has nothing to do with the restriction on the number of people getting married. They will have to fight the same way that we did. They may win, or may not, but polygamy will stand or fall based on the merits of their case just like SSM did.
So reading in context is now "cherry-picking"? Hmm..ok...doesn't surprise me that you would think that.
So laid out rules on how to treat your second wife is not saying it's ok? Exodus 21:10 Deuteronomy 21:15
Examples of several of gods chosen that were polygamous and blessed mean nothing? 2 Samuel 5:13; 1 Chronicles 3:1-9, 14:3 1 Kings 11:3 2 Chronicles 11:21
God saying to one that if he wanted more he would have given them? 2 Samuel 12:8
Seriously?
