No belief system was ever forced/fostered in my family. As a pre-schooler, I realized creation and felt there was an author.

Born and raised Catholic. Decided Christianity was a false path for me. Been forging my own since.

I take "religion" to be the form through which my faith is expressed, and always includes the things done for others as a result of my faith (James 1:27). I am a Quaker because of the way community is handled in that faith system in general, and because of the importance placed on the leading of the Spirit along with the methods for discerning that leading in community.

It's right for me.

Jeramiah 31;31,32,33,
God promised the provision of the Holy Spirit, and Jesus made it so .Matthew 7;21,22,23, John 14;-15;
To the end that God would be our teacher and direct guide in life preparing one for heaven, and a walk with Him .
I don't always write out the text because if some one is serious about what they believe they will look it up and prove it for them self.
Jesus said ," Blessed are they that DO hunger and thirst after righteousness, for THEY shall be filled."
This is not a casual relationship but one requiring honest desperation. All too often people fallow some ones program and are not desperate at all , simply going through the motions, and feel nothing, and experience nothing, this is not God's fault, this the lack of honest personal desperation ,with a resulting gratitude for the redemption that is missing .
If you think God is as shallow as your self, you will never see any thing.
Making the recognition "God is the creator" and "you are the created" is only a start .
Satan and the fallen angels and demons have no trouble believing God is real , the conflict is real.
Men are tested just like R&D looking for the quality person among the trash. Matthew 13;47,
If you consign your self to be trash, nothing changes , but if you want something better ,it takes Gods own intervention to make it happen. You have to prove how serious you are.
Man owe's a debt to God for life, and the opportunity to know Him, and have His tutelage.
Denying this fact put's one at odds with God right off the bat. = rebellion = sin = self govern ,denying God His govern.
I have met those the have come to God on their own ,no coaching from another man, and chose Jesus in their life, and received the Holy Spirit and His tutelage, and their doctrine is right on.
I could contribute nothing into their life because they were already being taught of God ,I found a thrill to meet an fellowship with.
How willing are you to accept second hand information?
and how desperate are you to be taught of God ?

Born and raised atheist, was led to christianity in my early 20's, gave it the old college try but it just didn't "take" (I guess I'm the seed thrown on stony ground, in the parable of the sower). After a decade of trying, I was finally honest with myself that my worldview is diametrically incompatible with religion... so I returned to the atheistic indifference from whence I came.

So than you don't believe in the FSM merely by faith! How confessional!

Reality doesn't need your or anyone else's "faith," If it smacks you in the face, and you turn your cheek, then it smacks you on the other when and if it sees fit.

The only people who need faith are the faithless, the only ones who need confidence are those without it, the only people who need assurance are those that don't have any. Every other "faith" is already taken and serves just as much as the "prove" or "substantiation" and "assurance" as any other "faith."

The believes of natural physicalism are too hard for many people who would not be willing to accept such a reality, but need to believe that everything is catered to them in a grand theological scheme reflective of their own corrupt heart as they see fit: Favoritism, Cronyism, Nepotism, Egoism, Neglect, etc. It is only by false and desirous faith that true believes are rejected, since it's proofs are obvious and self-evident.

Faith props up both truth and lie blindly, it is the most useless of substances. Critical-Thinking is the correct tool, because it tears away at itself and only lies can be torn down by complete doubt, truth is only shrouded by doubt if the doubt is incomplete. How much do you doubt?

For the GREEN text

So are you saying that anyone who does not believe in God, gets a choice to choose the path of "MERCY, JUSTICE and LOVE" ?

Or Anyone who believes in God, does not have the option to chose the path of "MERCY, JUSTICE and LOVE?

Anyway, the blue text is amusing.
It reminds of this

Friedrich Nietzsche's grave

He once said "God is dead".

Go visit his grave. It's Friedrich Nietzsche who is dead. And God is alive. Billions believe in him and tons of charity work has been done in the name of God to benefit the humanity.

And apparently it will happen to you (and me) as well. It's we who will die and have our graves just like Friedrich Nietzsche, but God will be alive whether you choose to believe in him or not.

Raised a Baptist. And then was disillusioned by our church.

My religion is "The Church of Lunetunelover". I believe in God and a variety of His representations/manifestations. I do not believe any one organized religion is the only right path. God gave us brains to reason and through that reasoning I am able to make choices about things for myself.
