I'm a Christian , and I converted some twenty years ago by repentance of sin and asking Jesus to come into my life , and I was water baptized and then Jesus Holy Spirit came on my life and still abides on my life ......................See this is the exact promise the Father God gave Jesus to bless people with His Holy Spirit some 0ne thousand Eighty two years ago and in the Book of Acts 2 in the Bible many people received Gods Holy Spirit on their lives ,................. and this proved to me of truth that Christianity was the right way to knowing God ,............ as God is still giving His Spirit to people like these scriptures , as this way people can truly know the living God
Let's see, I was born an atheist, transitioned into agnostic, realized we were ALL humans and embraced humanism, somewhere along the trail, was manipulated into christianity (5,000 member wanna be mega church circa 1980s).
Managed to break the yokes of OPPRESSION, FEAR, HATE, and TYRANNY and realized that religion was a man made precept designed to control the masses, take in money and create division among my neighbors.
It took a while, but the end result was I knew GOD WAS DEAD, AND WE (people) HAD KILLED HIM so I chose the path of MERCY, JUSTICE and LOVE.
If that ain't enough, then I really do not care much about tomorrow or what ANY god-in-the-tiny-box may have to say about obedience, sacrifice or stroking his ego.

To be religious requires faith.
What is faith?
The fervent believe in the imaginary. Faith can only be felt, never proven. Even if a billion other people have the same faith you do, does not make this real.
Millions used to believe in Zeus or Ra. That didn't make them anymore right either.
Was born and bred a Christian and embraced it fully. Had the yoke of oppression, fear, hate and tyranny forcibly yanked from my desperate grasp and replaced with the path of mercy and love.

(Sorry to plagarize you, Zthatz, but no point in reinventing the wheel. )
I would never 'belong' to any org religion.
Yet, I may possibly adore, rely on and feel the intimacy of the Divine Presence of
my Creator, The All That Is, more than anyone I know personally, so far, in my life.

Apparently you get it wrong. Faith is rather like how you believe what is said in a newspaper.
I am a Christian. Some might call me a Fundamentalist. I'm an Evangelical pastor. I believe the Bible is perfect, and the inspired word of God. I believe that all of us are destined to hell unless God saves us. By trusting in Jesus, we receive the righteousness of Jesus' perfect life and our sins are paid for by his death on the cross. This gift is available to all who would receive it. That includes all the atheists on this board -- if they are willing to bow the knee and trust Christ.
