Seems the Mormon Churches stance to ban any children with gay parents is harsh.

Thoughts?

Are Mormon churches going to request proof children come from straight households before they can go on religious retreats, or attend Mormon schools?

Should children be banned from a religion because of the sexuality of their parents?

By whose say?

Should the government make that decision, yes or no? No, it's not their affair.

Long story short, if a religion wants to do that, it's their call and it is all the call of their followers to decide to stay or go.

Is there not some point a religion ceases to be a religion and is more a political and social cause?

Well, from my perspective, those who are shunned by the organized churches are lucky not to be accepted into their vortex. So I see this as a blessing for the shunned ones. I wish they could all realize this.

It looks like the Mormons want to be a religion by doing this. Otherwise if they gave in to public opinion they would be a political or social cause.

Your title is misleading. If the children agree that the lifestyle of the parents is wrong, which I guess it is according to Mormon teaching, then they are far from being banned.

I disagree with their announcement but I applaud anyone that sticks to their beliefs and doesn't cave in to PC pressure. Don't like it don't be a Mormon.

How in the Hell could you ban someone from having a belief of - and an adherence to - a deity? We going all "1984" with the "thought police" or something? Is the Church/Synagogue/Mosque going to make random sweeps through their "banned" adherents' hearts/minds to make sure no loving and worshiping is going on?

WTH?!?!

Not as long as they retain their government status as a non-profit church. Lots of "preachers" tell their denomination how to vote....I wouldn't like it but as long as people will listen, they'll do it.

Hasn't it always been, it's about control, some more than others.
