My dear friends in Christ;

we live in an age where their exist a great many differing "Christian faiths". Catholicism being the oldest and largest seems to still be the "favorite target" and attracts the most criticism.

So let's discuss our differences.

What do you find to be a "strange": or "unusual" practice of the Catholic Church?

God Bless you,

Patrick

Everything. Literally, everything. When I see any aspect of a catholic ceremony, I feel as though I'm watching a National Geographic special on African witch doctors or something. Everything about Catholicism seems to me to be some bizarre form of mental illness.

Sorry, but you did ask. It's the only honest answer I can give.

Not letting nuns celebrate Mass or give Holy Communion is weird to me.

I find it strange that Catholics/Christians believe God sent part 2 of his 3-part self to fake being human and pretend to die for 3 days before zooming back up to heaven to re-assume his deputy godhood.

And this "sacrifice" was supposed to atone for a woman who, thousands of years earlier, disobeyed God #1 and followed a suggestion made by a talking snake.

1. God needs our money.

2. The obscene amount of wealth and procured art and antiquities the Vatican possesses. Why?

I was raised Catholic, and never understood the need to confess my sins to a Priest. Man cannot forgive another mans sins- only God can. Also, not allowing Priests to marry only contributes to sexual abuse of children. God gave man a sex drive for a reason. Certainly this does NOT justify child molestation- but what are the Priests supposed to do with their sexual desire if they cannot marry?

Nothing that is stranger than in any other religion.

Giving things up for Lent. Life is too short not to enjoy the things we love (as long as it doesn't hurt anyone).
