Is 'liver shivers' a technical term you learned in fundamentalist pastor school? Was that part of learning how to put down the beliefs and spiritual experiences of non-fundamentalists?

Maybe you should join forces with the atheists who think you believe in an 'invisible sky daddy'. That would be entertaining.

What "science of the gaps" are you talking about. I don't know of one single "science if the gaps" argument.

Science is the first to say if they don't know something.

Which scientific theory has gaping holes and please point out these holes that you are talking about.

Many holes have been filled by scientific discovery.

For example Newton thought that the reason the planets of our solar system did not collapse into the Sun was becasue of the handy work of god. But as we now know this is not the case.

You clearly don't know what you are talking about...however, instead of invoking god you should invoke intelligence and discovery.

Show us the question asked in post #93.

You made an ignorant statement that has nothing to do with anything I said.

I did answer it. I asked you who made that claim?

Go away and learn something.

Its what some scientists are working on most every day. But it isn't a "problem" because the scientist is trying to test new mathematical solutions to old problems, discover more data points about the universe, and devise new test strategies around new data. None of that is helped by holding to religious beliefs.

The existence of an uncaused cause answers that. Do you have anything in the natural science realm to answer that?
You mean without making stuff up? Or quoting people who are delusional?

Nope. And for the exact same reason you don't either. Because we just don't know yet....and likely never will. As Matadora pointed out...this is precisely the god of the gaps argument.

How does that seem compelling to you? Especially after I'm sure you've seen it debunked at least 100 times by now.

Exactly! Just imagine where we would be if all the scientists just threw up their hands when they come to an unknown or undiscovered phenomenon and simply say it must be god. We would still be back in the days of thinking we were the center of the Universe.

when unable to answer simple question, insult the person and tell them to leave

so there are people who agree with you, who are free to stay in the conversation so that the toadying and fawning can continue
and others who bring different views are deemed ignorant, insulted, and are told to leave

got it.
carry on, then.
preen away.

Insulted?

You made an ignorant Assumption and then asked a stupid question.

I simply asked you to provide evidence of your stupid Assumption.

No one ever mentioned that scientists can do no wrong.

However a person of sound mind and logic would easily understand that science is a tool, a method...whoever uses this tool in an evil way has nothing to do with science itself...it has to do with the human that used it in a harmful way.

To try and Personify science is nonsensical. It's humans that do evil not science.

It's like trying to say that weather is evil. No weather is weather and it can do some very violent horrific things..but this does not mean that weather is bad and evil.

Sure meteorologists are bad and evil folks.

Pretty sad when a person has such limited sights that they try and personify science as if it is human.

Also...it is a tradeoff. Humans want all the great comfort, convenience, power, etc. that the science/tech community has provided, and can provide.
Well, along with those benefits come costs...pollution, distraction & disconnection, harm through abuse, etc.
Ya can't have the benefits without the costs. That's an inevitable part of the equation.
Gotta deal with The Reality of the Way of the World!
