What does that mean exactly... That he knows what course each one of us will take?

He is not disappointed when, just as he foresaw, we have genuine difficulty believing in him, due to a number of valid, logical reasons?

And yet, despite his not being disappointed by our shortcomings, he must dish out discipline for those shortcomings, so like any good parent would, he has an ETERNAL future of pain, agony and torment lined up for those who question his existence.

Makes you wonder what delightful cruelty He could devise if he WERE disappointed in us???

So he loves us, but will damn us to an eternity of burning and torture if we don't believe in their existence. That doesn't sound very loving.

Remember the story, "The Emperor's New Clothes?" People would pretend to see the emperor's new clothes (that didn't exist) the same way people on this forum pretend to hear a make believe God talk to them. Of course their God always tells them what they want to hear. A good example of "God speak," the reason why women don't control the church is because God never told the men to put women in a position of power. Yeah ok guys

It is like having a pet rock. You have to talk for the rock because there is really nothing there but a rock. Same is true of the god myth. If you want to hear him talk you have to use your voice and talk for him.
This solves several problems for the religious. They can have their pet rock, or their god, say anything they want. All the rules are made to fit, and all the punishments match the made up offense to the talker’s desires. It is a perfect set up until someone comes along and points out the rock is not really talking.

what a bunch of cynics you are.....

Before you can say whether God says anything, you have to prove there is a God - otherwise it is you talking to yourself and answering yourself too.

It doesn't hurt anyone when they are young to have a pet rock or a doll, or a teddy bear, or an imaginary friend and to believe that it talks to them, however when this extends into adulthood people may think it seems a little strange.

Many have been committed to institutions for admitting they hear voices and acting on them, but if it is in the Name of God.....then I suppose it is OK - or is it?

Now... who is admitting they hear God's voice?

This post is by my husband, not me, Jess.

God has already proven to me He exists, and, yes, I hear his voice. No, I am not on medication.
