But some atheist in our ranks suffer from the same ailments of fundy-think-type theist and will never concede anything that doesn't support their limited world views.

There's a lot arrogance on the part of the OP, to publish, promote, and advocate for his little position. He's just one dot on the Earth and sea of humanity, and one quick blip on the radar of history, and yet he rants like he is more important than everyone else.
The world at large doesn't give a rats@ss why you "lost your Christian faith". Whoopy-dee friggin' do.

No coffee this morning? Somebody slip a pea under your mattress? Your dog die?

No, it just seems awfully narcissistic to create a thread about one's life decision like this. We all have choices in that area, and there's no need to elevate one's view above others to the point of making a thread out it. Plus, he tends to argue it in noisy manner, with boldfacing, underling, exclamation marks, and horrid faces. Pure emotion and instability.

Just for the sake of argument, what is every post on every thread in this forum, if not one's thoughts about one's life decisions?? Given that, even for supposedly-monolithic religions, there seem to be as many versions as there are practitioners... I don't see anyone here speaking for more than themselves, when it gets right down to it. And those who presume to speak for/represent a larger group than themselves, are soon corrected and reined up short.

Most threads on the Religion forum are about general subjects. Just look at the titles. They aren't "I" or "me".
Of course the comments will be personal, but that's not what I'm talking about. This is again about starting threads revolving specifically around the OP him or herself. "Look at me".

Fair enough, and thanks for clarifying. I suppose that I just took it (the OP) to be "here's my story, and I invite you to share your own"... an invitation that I and others accepted, or not.

And why do you think the world gives a rat's @ss about your religious leanings?

I see it simply as a way to open a topic.
