The United States has become very diverse and if anybody even attempted to establish such a government, it would be overthrown immediately.
I'm an atheist for the record.
Fortunately there are enough non-christians and other logical christians that wouldn't stand for it, particularly in blue states which are more prone to forcing religion out of governemnt

All Christians are "red letter" Christians--we believe in the power of Jesus' words. Tony Campolo? I don't know I listened to him back in the early 90's He reminded me of Don Rickles.
Just may be stupidity on my part but.. are they trying to attempt to establish such a government?
No, I was just stating if they tried to establish such a government, it would be thrown out quickly because nonchristians would not tolerate it. The United States is now more diverse than most people think. The atheist population is bigger than most think it is.

i dont think that it really has anything to do with trying to establish a government, but more with the way that christians who are in office act and behave..just my .02
Well, I'm a devout Christian who doesn't believe in Evangelism. I believe that one transmits one's faith by how you live your life, not by what you say on the street corner. Matthew Chapter 6 backs me up on that one.
I also believe that some of the more militant wings of Christianity are trying to impose their own personal vision of the faith in how government operates. I live in a state where the chief justice of the State Supreme Court snuck the Ten Commandments into the courthouse in the middle of the night, and then fought an expensive two-year campaign to keep it there.
I'm an Independent Christian. Meaning I can't agree with every tenant of any one branch. I believe that, as posted earlier, Christians are to live their faith, not force it on others. I believe that there should be strict separation of State and Religion. We cannot have all run the store, so none should. For people who think this will lead to Anarchy... the laws are based on the values of the people. If the people value Evil, the laws will be Evil, if they value Good, then they will have Good laws. God gives freedom of choice to ALL...who am I to take away from others what GOD gave!
Now as for Red Letter Christians I can agree on the emphasis on Poverty, Environment, Health Care, Tolerance. I can agree with not refusing to accept Gays into a Church, we are all sinners who is anyone to say your sins are so bad that you are denied a place to worship. I guess the only thing that I can't agree with the gentleman who appeared on John Stewart is being a Democrat...I remain an Independent!

I didn't get that out of it at all. I think it's just another religious sect although it's not something I've ever heard of before. Just based on what I read it sounds alot better than some of the others.
