When Jesus disciples were baptising in Judean country John was baptising in Aenon near Salim. John 3:22-24. Reports to John that Jesus was making many disciples John replied "This joy of mine has been made full. That one must go on increasing but I must go on decreasing." John 3:26-30.
Within a year or more of active ministry John was imprisoned by Herod Antipas. John had reproved him for his adulterous marriage to Herodias. He had taken her from his brother Philip.
While John was in prison he heard of Jesus powerful works including resurrecting the widows son at Nain.
John sent two of his disciples to Jesus asking for verification "Are you the Coming One or are we to expect a different one?". Not answering, he healed many persons even casting out demons before the two disciples. Then he told them to report that the blind, deaf and lame were being healed and the good news was being preached. By Jesus works John was comforted, reassured Jesus was the Messiah. Mt 11:2-6 Luke 7:18-23
Next Jesus applied prophecies that had been fulfilled in John.
Then he said Matt 11:11 "Truly I say to you people, Among those born of women, there has not been raised up a greater than John the Baptist; BUT A PERSON THAT IS A LESSER ONE IN THE KINGDOM OF THE HEAVENS IS GREATER THAN HE IS."
Those who rule with Christ in his heavenly Kingdom (of whom he made a covenant for a kingdom Luke 22:28 and these had stuck by him) all died AFTER him. Also they endured many persecutions and trials (Phil 1:29) sometimes martyrdom.
When Jesus said a lesser one in His Kingdom would be greater than John that is because John died BEFORE Jesus. He would not be in the heavenly part of Gods Kingdom but would be resurrected back to earth. John 5:28,29
Who knows if our Lord was aware that John would die in prison?
Herodias hated John. Herod was scared of him. Though he was a Jewish proselyte he knew John was a righteous man. Luke 3:19, 20 Mark 11:20
Shortly before the Passover of 32 C.E. Herod arranges a large celebration of his birthday. Salome his step daughter dances and that is when John is beheaded.
Mark 6:14 - 16 Herod heard word that John had been raised from the dead. This may have been on account of hearing Jesus miracles and raising of the dead. Luke 9:9
So if Herod thought that John had been raised by Jesus back to life (as Jesus had done with others) and he was fearful, obviously John was ALREADY DEAD. Not after Jesus but well before.
Please don't treat the Bible like trail mix. Just picking out the bits you like throwing the rest away.
Come to think of it - it's good for Christians to express confidence in the Word and defend it.

Great. So tell us, did Paul's companions hear or see his epiphany?

Yes, they heard the voice.
And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. Acts 9:7

No, they didn't hear the voice.
And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me. Acts.22:9
By the way, those are in context.

Jesus also said - I am before Abraham. Which is actually correct.
OP, you posted a prejudiced post. You ask a question that carries YOUR answer in it. Thereafter, you will be looking only for confirmation of your answer. That makes your post a pseudo question and pointless.
Jesus is not a human being. Jesus is buddha. As such, he is in god. God is everything. Past present and future. As such, he indeed was before Abraham and knew that JTB will be killed.
This violates only humane understanding of "history" based on humane understanding of time and consecutivity of historical events.
From spiritual perspective, it does not matter who lived before whom or did what when. What matters is essence of what was done. As it is all in totality and totality knows no "time" in sense you understand it and no "historical events order".
Please..

Namaste

Most Buddhist philosophies do not believe in a 'god'. And as the bible passage I quoted is accurate, and the bible further states when the mythological creature called Jesus died, the question is completely on target. It's just a logic thing.
