God is definitely not a chatterbox. I've never heard a peep out of him in all of my 58 years on this earth. When I was young I went to church and would pray but I finally got the feeling that saying a prayer was like talking into a disconnected phone, you never get a response to anything you say.
Well maybe I wasn't clear, I give as much credence to their claims as I do yours. I don't believe either exist, I have seen no evidence that would make me believe either story. A person making the claims you do, doesn't convince me of anything other then the posibility that they are as ill as the people who believed in the aliens and so forth.
I respect your beliefs, even though they are completely opposite of what we Christians strongly know is the truth, but I think you're making an unfair judgement by saying that we have an illness. The majority of true Christians are decent people, who are only doing the same thing Jesus did so passionately in his last 3 years on earth about 1980 some years ago, and that was because he loves each and everyone of us, regardless of race, gender, or past mistakes.

There is the problem right there. Saying that Christians KNOW it's the truth. If a guy said that George Bush is an alien, and he KNOWS that's the truth, you would think he's crazy. What you're failing to realize is that his statements are just as valid as the ones made by Christians, because they both occur in a person's mind. These things can not be validated or proven to be true by others.
I do find it funny though that if you hear any kind of voice in your head, you're crazy, but if you hear God's voice, you're just religious. The hypocrisy in that is hilarious.

I'm sorry you feel that way Lindsey.
Thats where the difference is. My threshold for KNOWING is different then yours.
I live by the idea "if it sounds unlikely it probably is."
I know many reasonable and very kind christians, I think a few stand out because they are so outrageous, they give you ALL a bad name.

Be careful who you guys claim to hear the voice of God in your head to. That in some hospitals is enough to get you commited against your will and I'm not making a joke here. I have had patients that I spoke with commited for claims like that.

For some reason, your post made me imagine what things would be like if Richard Dawkins ruled the world...

Have you ever done something wrong and felt bad about it?
Yes, to equate the world's spiritual traditions with Santa Claus does indicate a person with shallow thinking and a narrow mind. Making a statment like that makes you sound like someone who is unable to discern any difference between Dennis the Menace, Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Buddha, or Martin Luther King.
Why??????// To some of us its ALL a big fat fairy tale...
