Who gets to prosecute the God in question?
Can said God be his/her/its' own Lawyer?
IF said God is found guilty of atrocity (a), (b) or (c) and sentenced...what will the sentence be?
Are there any "infinite" jails to "accommodate" said God?
To avoid belabouring the issue .....
Said God gets a pass (probably VIP )...because He/She/It...is a God. Gods don't go to Jail....people do.
Yes, it's all about beliefs (whether true or false)...and Faith.
G-d was already put on trial...I think it was back in the early 20th century...

Religious businesses/sects/companies provide a valuable service - they cause people to behave correctly so while christians may not have a clue - if they need these stories to behave, it's fine by me. Thinking logically, it is bizarre to worship a god that did that to their son. A sentence for the god would be to ignore it and that would be their jail - I dunno if it's eternal but then again, if we ignore it, there might be some flood (commonly referred to as acts of god by insurance companies).
Actually, I think of people like Plato, and Aristotle, and Socrates, and so many other ancient Grecian thinkers, and I'm thankful we have them to learn from. I don't consider the ancient Greeks to be morons at all. Or superstitious.
The video is blocked from me but I saw it already on PBS and it is a very powerful story. I think in addition to Believers, non believers and Holocaust Deniers should watch it too. There were some good points for both believing and not believing made by the prisoners. I am not sure why the PBS station I watch calls itself Spokane/Edmonton and Calgary and yet I cannot see most of the content from them on line.
And as we've pretty much established, if you THINK you've got the "right one", that's an automatic red flag that you don't!
The right one for YOU, maybe.
And it's really just that simple. Different strokes. What I choose to believe and what anyone else chooses is a live and let live to me. Unless someone tries to force their beliefs on me. That crosses a line I don't take lightly. You're spot on with the "right one" thing. In terms of taking a vehement stance on religion or lack thereof, with so many choices out there who's to say what's "right". Yet many are willing to kill and die over such convictions. It's truly amazing.
As I look at the subject of religion, it would simplify matters f all the different warring factions would agree to call their God Mars or Aries or Odin since war and killing each other seems to be at the core of it all. May as well use a name that signifies that. It's that fact that turns me completely off to organized religion. Good grief, even inside specific groups it's own members can't agree on things. I've seen some huge fights break out in "Bible study" groups over what specific passages say and mean.
Right? LMAO, what's that? Depends on who you ask I reckon.
The Biblical authors never claimed it to be a history book. It is a collection of books written by many different authors over many different time periods. These authors were inspired to write about God, not human history. It does recount the history of Israel, but doesn't claim historical accuracy, because that was never the goal of the authors.
ok but christians believe that book is a history book...
But the sensible, intelligent, educated ones do not.
Indeed. Those of us who realize we are in year 2017. Even old guys like me who had the bassackwards hellfire and damnation for even the simplest of transgressions hurled at us as kids have found ways to move beyond that bilge. I remember all that far to well. An aquaintance of my grandmother was a rabid fundy. I used to hang out with a friend who was a cousin to her daughter. She hung out with us at times. At any rate my first encounter with her Mother was less than pleasant. Oh my! The wrath was descending on me, the devil was coming to drag me away in the dark of night. Sheesh, when your like 10 that's scary stuff.
I went a spell really disturbed by this until my Grams< who could see something wrong, say me down and drug it out of me. Oh yea, she was pizzed! Never saw her so inscenced. She lit out and tore that lady a new one you could carry a watermelon in, and explained things to me in terms I could understand about what BS it all was. Dogmatic belief in scripture is what produces people like that woman with her dire threats of death and damnation.
I've been seriously educated since those days. Spent a fair piece of time choosing not to believe in anything though. Got past that too. "Some" Christians see the Bible as history as told by the Word of God and cling to it as such. But I like to think there are a growing number who are more enlightened and use their heads for more than something to beat on the floor in rapture.
