Boyce, there is an eleventh commandment, the greatest commandment that sums up all the others into one word..LOVE...In John 13:34 Jesus gave us a new commandment..It is mostly referred to the love commandment..In other words if you have love you will not want to break the other commandments.True love does not lie, cheat, steal, murder ....

Sin is described in the Bible as transgression of the law of God (1 John 3:4) and rebellion against God (Deuteronomy 9:7; Joshua 1:18). Humans became sinners not because they sinned, they sinned because they were sinners. This is the condition known as inherited sin, from Adam.
God used the principle of imputation to the benefit of mankind when He attributed the sin of believers to the account of Jesus Christ, who paid the penalty for that sin (death) on the cross. Imputing our sin to Jesus, God treated Him as if He were a sinner though Jesus was not, and had Jesus die for the sins of all who would ever believe in Him. It’s important to understand that sin was imputed to Him, but he did not inherit it from Adam. Jesus bore the penalty for sin, but He never became a sinner. Those who have not placed their faith in Jesus Christ must pay the penalty for these personal sins, as well as inherited and imputed sin. we can choose whether or not to commit sins because we have the power to resist sin through the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, sanctifying and convicting us of our sins when we do commit them (Romans 8:9-11).
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Sin has been crucified on the cross with Jesus, and now “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7).

I don't know if any of you have ever watched the comedian George Carlin but on one of his live televised specials he talks about the Ten Commandments and suggests that making an even number of ten was more of a marketing decision than anything else because they could be condensed into a fewer number and some of them don't make much sense anyway. Of course he's a well known atheist and isn't very fond of religion in general but I think his monologues are pretty insightful as well as being funny.

I've heard this before but to me that just sounds like you can accept Jesus Christ as your saviour and then go and sin as much as you want without having to worry about going to hell.

That's a beautiful post blue but if love is the most important thing then how can something like being gay result in you getting sent to hell?

No, when you accept Jesus as you Savior you will not want sin, you still do sin, but your hearts desire is to live a life that honors God as you draw closer to Him.

Being gay doesn't send anyone to hell, not accepting Jesus as your Savior is what sends people to hell according to the Bible.
