It's way more hygienic than leaving them out to rot and it nourishes the earth.
What about letting them drift away into the sea...the Sea of Love.
Ocean creatures die in the ocean...the ocean is not unhygienic due to these ocean dwellers...it's unhygienic due to humans dumping human generated waste and human traps.
They're just bones that will stay in the ground for a long time, until tectonic forces eventually take them away. And they take up space.
So why bury the dead?
*Well, if we just left them lying around it would freak out the stiffs still living (which wouldn't be such a bad thing), and they'd get to be smelling pretty funktastic pretty quickly, especially in the summer (which is a very bad thing).
* *sigh* yes, I'm just kidding. If you have to ask you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Put them under ground because they rot and then smell bad .... The God does not take the bones out of the ground at the end of time , where the remains will stay there and God only collects the spirit and the soul of people from the remains , and then God will only collect the spirit of people who he does not know .....
I mean what else would you want to do with your dead? BBQ them?
Matter of fact, if you look at it theoretically, the Atheists shouldn't have a problem with cannibalism.
As a matter of fact, if you look at it without a woeful misunderstanding of atheism, the general factors behind the taboo of cannibalism in those cultures that do indeed have bases independent of religion.
And the fact that numerous cultures - from the ancient Egyptians to ancient Greece (where Galen prescribed the consumption of the blood of others as a remedy for various ailments) to Mesoamericans to the Maori - practiced cannibalism alongside their religions or intervowen into those religions, shows you what happens when you ignore the real world and make up 'theories' about that are almost entirely dependent on you having little understanding of atheism.

Not THE ONLY reason but ONE of the MAIN reasons.
Some people; however, do eat human meat as part of their faith based rituals, like the Hindu Aghori tribe in India.
The reason I asked the question from the OP was to know as to what else he would like to do with the dead if he questions the burial of our diseased ones? May be he is an Aghori?
What do you think is a logical and scientific reason that an Atheist may not eat human meat (besides "he may not like it")

It's tradition. More than likely, ancient humans started burying the dead (or cremating) to get rid of the body. They likely noticed that they would get sick as the bodies rotted, so the figured putting them in the ground and burning them would solve that... probably by keeping the spirits locked up or something.
