If it came from Heaven, then it is bound to return to Heaven (if).
Interesting thought. What, exactly, do you mean when you say "came from Heaven"? Do you just mean, "was created by God" or do you really mean "came from Heaven"? To me, those are two entirely different things. And another question: Is it possible to "return" to someplace you've never been before?
We have to be a little bit careful not to give too human-like qualities, or personify animals.
Most people are more interested in their pets and seeing them again, which is fantastic, but wild animals are the largest percentage.
These are creatures that can carry out cannibalism (snakes, sharks and many other animals), infanticide (eg male lions, female prairie dogs to name a few), and generally practices that are not accepted in human society. (secular or religious).
The rule book is totally different, if God was in fact to judge animals as He does humans.
In many ways, this is like judging untouched jungle people, who have never come into contact with modern civilization, and never heard of "The Word"- as the fundamentalists would put it.

~Within 8 or years, you're going to find out, you never left Heaven. You're inside a very Big Chalice sitting next to the Throne of God. Everything you know of is inside His Chalice in Heaven.

Not to interrupt, but this ^ caught my eye. No, actually, it's not. Good point.
As a SPIRITUAL side note to consider for whosoever will (NOT talking about Fido in the flesh here): all the creatures came out of Adam's heart, which is why it was given to him to name (denotes nature of their spirit) them. And once those carnal beastly natures are overcome in us (cast out) and are submitted to the Christ within man, they return as a servant for another purpose down the road. Does not any good footstool elevate the feet? Peace
This kind of question - like the karma question - are beyond our knowledge. Until we can get God (or whoever you're identifying with) to come down, sit at a computer, bring up City-Data.com, and reply on our lovely forum, there's no way any of us can answer this.
We could also ask questions like the exact age of the universe, how many fleas are alive on the earth at this very moment, and other such matters, but we're fooling ourselves if we think we can get an answer.

~you've just forgotten.
Okay. Good to know. So what's going to happen in 8 years or so?
So, are you saying you believe you were once in Heaven? Or am I misunderstanding you?
We were one with Him from the foundation of the world, as a man and his wife are one, as the Head and the body are two, yet one. We were LOWERED into this vanity, NOT WILLINGLY, but He subjected the same with hope (Christ IN YOU, the hope of glory, the glory that we had BEFORE). We were NOT WILLING to be lowered from our first estate, ie. NONE of us wanted to "die" and take on this veil of flesh and the veil of FORGETFULNESS, the beastly carnal mind that goes with it (His Spirit shall bring all things to your REMEMBRANCE).
But NOW, we have another opportunity to "die" for Him (no greater love) and return to our former estate WITH THE GLORY (IF we 'die' with Him then also we shall be RAISED with Him). Refusing to die to self in this realm AGAIN, for His higher purposes is self-destructive and we rob OURSELVES by robbing G-d (can a man rob G-d? Yea, in tithes and OFFERINGS/make of yourselves a a LIVING sacrifice), for whatsoever you sow, so do you reap. This is how ALL MEN have sinned and come short of the glory of G-d, but shall we stubbornly do it AGAIN, is the question. Truly there is nothing new under the sun. Peace
