Yes it is and yes they should. Weak politicians are afraid of losing the Catholic vote. Self preservation always wins with men who don't follow Him. Peace

Its good they keep exposing the church for these crimes, but there's still work undone looking into government agencies like health and human services and organizations like The Clinton Foundation.

That's a great point, actually. All these anti-religion people seem to think that without religion people would never do wrong. Does anyone actually think pedophiles, and other bad people don't exist in other organizations?

Of course they do. Chicken hawks seek prey wherever they can be put in close contact with chickens.

But religion provides the best pickin's. All those docile sheep, trained to obey the figures representing their daddy-god, makes it all-too easy for the wolves in robes to feast.

Wait....does that mean you're a chicken hawk? Did you just call us chickens?

You're right, actually. It does provide easy pickin's. Churches need to protect the sheep. That means they need policies in place to keep it from happening. Your comment also seems to agree that it can happen in any organization where people are involved. I agree with that.

Of course in can happen in any organization. But most organizations have changed their corporate cultures in an attempt to prevent these practices and to investigate and expose wrong doers. The worse action any organization can do is to go into denial that wrongs can be occurring within it and to cover up in order to protect the organization's image. This is precisely what some churches have done. Some non church organizations are also hiding sexual assult that occur within them but many, maybe even most are spending a fair amount of effort to weed these folks out and even more importantly to educate their members on what harrassment or assult are and that there will be zero tolerance. The Catholic Church must also do this however they also have to open up to their covering these actions up in the past.

Are there any organizations that don't involve people? One example of a sexual predator involved with taking advantage of boys under his care is Graham James, former coach of the Swift Current Broncos a junior hockey team. Guys like him deserved being put in jail just like those pedophile priests do. I neither know or care about Jame's religious beliefs, he could be an atheist for all I care, he abused boys, was charged convicted and did some jail time. Religion can never be an excuse for these deeds kust like a lack of religion can also never be an excuse.

Interesting to note that we find common ground when the SHTF. Suddenly we are all on the same side.
