I agree with Moosketeer and want to add that this is the first time I've ever discussed and/or posted about how I feel about religion. I usually get defensive because people treat you like a criminal/terrible person if you say you don't believe in any god. I've had so many people tell me they'll pray for me, it's not funny. I don't wish to be prayed for and if you do it don't tell me and please don't bless me. It doesn't mean anything to me at all so you're just wasting words on me. I don't mean to be disrespectful in saying this even though it may sound that way.
When one believes that one has "all the answers" it makes life so simple, doesn't it?

I understand you mean well, but a god didn't make me. My father and my mother had sex and contributed the genetic material that became me. There was no miracle involved, and I am not an expression of the deity you believe exists.

It depends on what you believe, for me God's behind everything including sex and genetic material, he's the intelligence that guides creation, the force of gravity that keeps us on earth, the spark or life that supports us both you and me, the power behind our reasoning, emotions, breath, etc.
Hmmmm I don't like the word deity too much, I prefer Cosmic Consciousness, The absolute inmanifested, Spirit, Parambrahma or Ishvara

Indeed. And there are a slew of other things I've been told simply because I'm an atheist, and they're pretty darned stupid too. There are idiots of all philosophical persuasions, I'm sure we can agree on that at least.
