Edit:

This would be steps 1 & 3 in cult recruitment:
1. Invitation to a non-threatening event
3. Dangling "The Prize" in front of you

The "calculus" referred to would be steps 5, 6, and 7:
5. Shutting down your dissent by threatening to withhold the prize
6. Establishment of guilt
7. Carrot/Stick

Is all they need is the person to agree to step 4 then they move to step 2 and the leading begins:
4. Extracting an agreement from you that you want the prize
2. Love-bombing

So you are aware that is what you are involved in and a reasoning that it is OK because "everyone is doing it"?

Telling kids the truth? You think that's wrong?

Why not?

If it's (as you say) true.

Unless you've been there (have you?) then you don't know it exists. Hell may be allegorical.

The Bible doesn't suggest that. We teach what Scripture says.

Even when it's blatantly wrong and foments fear, hatred and despair.

That's why fundamentalism must be eradicated.

I'm guessing you are an advocate for teaching kids about sex ed, and possible diseases one can catch, right?

But you think it's abuse to teach that Jesus saves us from hell?

Amazing the double standard.

Hardly.

The former is true and the latter is not.
