In my family, we have record of ourselves to the Shl"ah who connects himself to Rashi who connects himself to King David (the tribe of Judah). How far back does your family tree go?
My best friend could trace himself back to David also, sure miss him.
"At the age of three, as our sages tell us (Nedarim 32a), Abraham recognized that there was, is, and will be but one G‑d, the creator of heaven and earth. "
"Just as Abraham chose G‑d, so did G‑d choose Abraham and made an everlasting covenant with him and his children, the Jewish people. Said G‑d to Abraham: "My Name was not known to My creatures, until you made Me known to them. I shall regard you as My partner in the creation of the world" (Gen. R. 43) .
God chose the descendants of Jacob (Israel) for His message because they were the only people at the time who could (a) obey the commands and (b) teach others about the message.
How could they teach others if others were not able to obey commands?
A LOT of Jews can prove their line, it's not a claim.
Actually, not.
One of the authorities Jews seek advice from on their blood lines, Prof. Klyosov, who Jews rewarded golden medal for his research on their bloodlines, clearly showed that known Jewish bloodlines go only about 400 years back. 420 I believe was the longest traceable bloodline. So a bloodline going back to Abraham - nahhh...

Others were able to obey but could not obey as they were not taught how to obey.
The descendants of Jacob had been given commands to obey and, therefore, knew how to obey and could obey. Others couldn't obey because they did not know how to obey. They needed someone to teach them the message and how to obey the commands. It was the duty of the descendants of Jacob to teach others. Others were able to obey but only after being taught.
Idol worshipers of Mecca were able to obey the commands but could not obey until they were taught by Muhammad how to obey.

I don't know how it works, I just know 3 Jews told me they could trace their line and if I knew 3, there must be a lot.
That's still beside the point to me, The chosen are still these Jews.
Did you know that you couldn't understand the New Testament without the Oral Torah?
Revelation will make you look up the Talmud in several places, and what was written 2000 years ago in the New Testament was written by Jews who knew the Oral Torah.
There is a lot of information in the Oral Torah that just isn't in the bible.
For instance, that 30 min of silence in heaven takes place every time the incense if offered, but it would be impossible to know this without the Talmud as it would be impossible to know many truths in the New Testament without the Talmud.
God gave them things to do, but how they were done is if often times only found in the Talmud. Their Oral Torah has so much NEEDED information that a person wanting to understand the New Testament, cannot do so without getting into the mind of a Jew who knows Oral Torah.
Just because you don't find everything in the bible doesn't mean this is the end of information.
It's like keeping the Tabernacles, you go and tell somebody how to keep any of the feasts of God, and they simply cannot without the Talmud.
