Take it or leave it. Up to you. God doesn't push Himself on anyone

I'd think about it though, eternity is a long time to be wrong.

Sure god does push itself on EVERYONE.

It CHOSE for me to be born then hides from me expecting me to believe or be tortured for all eternity.

And it knew before my birth that I wouldn’t believe!

FWIW I do take NDE's quite seriously, regardless of how long the person was clinically dead for.

But good point, apparently Lazarus was dead for 4 days before being raised from the dead by JC, but just what did he see on the other side?
There is this account:

According to tradition, Lazarus never smiled during the thirty years after his resurrection, worried by the sight of unredeemed souls he had seen during his four-day stay in Hades. The only exception was, when he saw someone stealing a pot, he smilingly said: "the clay steals the clay".

Oh you do come out with some nonsense!

Eternity is a long time to be anything. You'd go mad in a billion years. You could only survive eternal heaven if you were no longer you. That's without considering - if Islam is right, then you are going to be in hell along with all the other Unbelievers.

No...YOU chose to believe such nonsense, my friend.
Man pushed this nonsense on his fellow Man...not this all pervading Consciousness.
YOU have chosen not to dive deep within yourself to find where this Wonder resides in you.

Sorry, but this Inner Path within is done by the big boys..not the faint if heart that choose to whine.
(Not that you personally are a whiner...maybe a bit of a complainer and blamer of God?)

Well ... I can pretty much guarantee that a whole lotta sex in our world stems from ego. It's a matter of "catching" the "prey" and making a "conquest."

If sex comes that easily, then a lot of it's appeal will be drastically diminished.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, mind you.

But ...

Again, there erupts the problem of being "pretty" turning into mediocrity. If everyone can be pretty, then no one is pretty. Instead, everyone will be average.

It's like the stones in my driveway. No one would regard them as pretty, unique, exotic, or worth much of anything because there are thousands of them within easy reach - and you're not having sex with the real thing. You're essentially bedding an illusion, a person who masked their true self with a magic spell.

And yet even if every last one of those rocks in my driveway became gold nuggets, no one would care. Because now there are thousands of gold nuggets within easy reach - and there are more than enough to go around.

But in this case, since the real "person" is making themselves pretty, it's more like someone spraying gold paint on all of those rocks to make them look like gold nuggets - but they really aren't.

Which, again, takes much of the appeal away from sex. Unless you're only in the sex game for those few moments of pleasure, the rest of it will lose its 'magic'.

Wow, I haven't seen Pascal's Wager in a long time.

I mean, who is to say I'm wrong?

Who is to say you're right?

The reason why Pascal's Wager doesn't work is that you could die and find yourself standing in front of Allah or Shiva or Mithra or Odin or any number of other gods of various religions both currently practiced and dead.

Even if we atheists are wrong and there is a god, there is absolutely NO guarantee that the god you personally worship is the "One True God."

Oh sure, no doubt you believe the god you worship is the only correct god - and you probably believe that at least as much as I believe there is no god at all. And neither of our beliefs are any less sincere or devout than an Allah-worshiping Muslim or a Shiva-worshiping Hindu, all of whom would claim that both of us are wrong. And eternity is a damn long time! With just a handful of gods thrown into the mix - Yahweh, Allah, Shiva, and Odin, your chance of being right is only 25%. (And yes, there is a church called Asatruarfelagid that is bringing back the worship of Thor and Odin.)

If you're going to use Pascal's Wager as some kind of veiled threat, then keep in mind that you have just as much chance of being right as you would hitting a bullseye with a dart - blindfolded.

They may have needed Viagra, but the point is - they still wanted to have sex.

It means the drive is still there even if they need medication to use that drive.

And sure, not many men over 50 are involved in sex crimes - but think of how many men that age trade in their menopausal wife for a younger model that still has the sex drive to please him in bed.
