I would love to be an atheist. You can do whatever the hell you want as long as you don't get caught.

I could have figured out a way to scam some unsuspecting people and make a lot of money in the process.

But yet...I am not an atheist.

I envy you though. Hopefully, you are not one of them fake atheists though. Because a real atheist will get ya and make ya put your hand in their pocket.
You have issues a message board can't help.

I think you just lack the ability to see the big picture. What I am saying is not wrong. You might disagree with it, but it is certainly not wrong.

Atheists do not feel the need to discredit Christ. They are however, appalled that supposedly-educated people in the 21st century can believe that Genesis is true and a Daddy-God is totally into slapping non-believers into an eternal fire.

Atheists fight ignorance and intolerance - both of which flourish in this section of CD.

And, as I scan the posts above mine (aside from Jerwade's) that ignorance is on full display.
Case in point with your comments. Thanks for proving my point.

How can it be right for you to judge someone else's beliefs?

My thought is that you are ignorant. But I'm not going to come out and say that...whoops...I guess I just did...but only to make a point.

According to atheists, we're all just stardust. So why does star dust care what other stardust believes? It shouldn't matter.

However, some Christians feel that their religious beliefs should be used as the basis for telling an entire country of millions of people from diverse backgrounds how they can live. I will fight this Christian version of the Taliban with every means that I have available.
Here's how laws and regulations work...the majority of the people make a consensus on laws and regulations.

If you live in the US, it's still predominantly a Christian country. So yes, it will be swayed by Christian values.

Even so, I understand your desire to fight politically. But to come on a public forum to do so? Seems kind of weird.

I care because fundamentalist stardust votes and breeds. They pose a danger to children, society, and other living things.

It's not just about laws and regulations, its about the ability to be what one wants to be without repercussions from friends, family members, employers, and co-workers. In the southern U.S., one can lose one's job if the boss finds out one is an atheist. Laws are not made via the consensus of the people but by a consensus of their representatives, unless these laws violate the rights of others. This latter part is the most critical to prevent the tyranny of the majority over the minority.

What one believes dictate one's actions. This is why we atheists continue to promote the ideal that everyone use reliable methods to come to our beliefs and to continually reevaluate the reasons we have been convinced of these beliefs.

We have as much right and as much an obligation to make our beliefs or non-beliefs known as any Christian, Muslim, or other religion.

Christianism says the same thing, if you consider their various beliefs.

This is awfully empowering because if you become very powerful on earth, you can do whatever you want without consequence.

You will realize this as automation eventually makes 99% of the human population unemployable. Then you will see the REAL atheists rise to power.

Their version of righteousness will differ significantly from yours. Christianity provides a foundation for righteousness. Humanity has proven time and time again, that it is clearly not righteous in accordance to the teachings of Christ.

If I were an atheist, I wouldn't care. Nothing like this would matter.

I mean, why would I care about what someone else believes?

In fact, some of them can get downright rude about it. But for some reason, atheists feel they have the right to do it.

Could it be they are searching for the truth?

Or maybe they see the truth, but they're fighting to submit to the one true God?

For all the atheists who lurk here, what do you say?
Pretty much the same thing we said last time you asked this question:

Why argue for atheism?

Or, as an atheist you use your conscience as your guide based on various moral standards, instead of only doing the right thing because you're afraid of the punishment. And that's what Christians do -- the right thing because they're scared. I don't see that as admirable or moral.
