The answer to that is moot but the recent finds and theories coming out of Gobekli Tepe suggest strongly that it was religion NOT farming that started our rapid path to civilization in just 12000 years (a virtual nano-second in evolutionary terms).

That is hardly the earliest site of a possible beginning of civilization.

Perhaps not, but it is an inflection point from which the gradient toward our current status steeply departed exponentially from the prior trend.

What does evolution have to do with civilization? One is a biological process, the other is cultural/technological/whatever.

I suspect you know enough about evolution to answer your own question if you actually thought about the importance of evolutionary changes in the brain to the advancement of cognitive structures.

That does make an important point. The fact is that religion and ritual seems to have been part of human activity even before there was a farming -based community.

I have a few hypotheses about this, but there is no doubt that religion was there all the time human civilization began to evolve. But do you know, while it battened on the social processes of farming, civil law and ruling authority, I don't think it was ever the basis.

a tip: You about to be subjected to peddling of Mystic's spiritual hypothesis.

Danger signs. obscure waffle aimed at a faith claim:

Then crafty waffle intended to make you do the work that he doesn't (Mystic hardly ever really explains anything) in the hope that you will inevitable discover the truth of human spiritual evolution.

Of course nobody will imagine this without Mystic explaining it but that, he will tell himself is because nobody else is as educated as he is.

Sure, you need to have enough brainpower to build upon experience and get organized, creating a civilization. So what? You still havenít shown anything.

It is a given that we are evolved enough to be civilized. As evidence, I present the proof that we are civilized. Great. Although you brought up the alleged rapid development of civilization, you have not shown why that speed may be notable, anomalous, or related to any particular evolutionary development.

Yes, I have seen it before. Often enough, and which such little substance behind it, that I very much doubt the PhD portion of mysticphd.

It is his typical twaddle wherein he says something about religion, them brings in an 7nrelated item, saysa Ďaha!í, and is incapable of defending his position.

yeah, not understanding how evolution is directly related to everything human is mystic's problem.

Not

its a you problem.

And you not pointing that out is yet another red flag for us to see how some of us atheists take atheism to a hole other level that only a true fundy, like you, can understand.

god
