Back to your topic : I wonder how would you expect to enjoy or second or third billion years in the afterlife?
Find a support group, volunteer to help others, take a trip. Just go back to living your life and enjoying it again and return to this concern when you are in a better place in your head. I'm serious, work on getting your head into a better place right now.
When my father was told that he was dying and he could no longer drive his car, it was not the dying but not being able to drive again that really bothered him. He refused to go to the hospital to stay but was lucky that home care was available to him and he died in peace in his own bed and never once mentioned an afterlife or anything like that. I don't think he believed in a God but thought of himself as Jewish so I don't think we get an afterlife.
If there is a God and an afterlife I am sure he would want you to get yourself together before he meets you and if there isn't then getting yourself together will help you during this life. Either way, the best of luck and I hope you can recovery fully from this state.
Golf was my main "hobby" and for some reason I lost the ability to golf last Summer and it's as bad this Summer I am finding out.
I couldn't figure it out - still can't figure it out - I thought I finally figured out that the astronomical amount of Neurontin I was "upped" to physiologically changed me, but I'm totally at a loss at this point since I stopped Neurontin entirely almost a month ago now and I am not improving.
I can't articulate what's going on with me but physically I feel weaker than I ever have.
I finally got sober and now I feel like I'm physically deteriorating. I've seen physicians; I've seen therapists and so on. No one has an answer. No one can give me an answer.
My physical state is such that I honestly might walk away from the one thing keeping me alive (my job) and just saying to hell with it. Right now I am trying to take it one day at a time but there isn't much keeping me here.
You guys think "Christians" orchestrated all the wars America has been dumped into for the last...70 years?
It's totally different topic altogether but you guys are tragically misguided on that one.
It's not just Christians and other religions. World leaders use these unfounded beliefs to dismiss mass loss of life. Life is far more precious than the religious and world leaders consider it.

Since Jesus taught that the Hebrew Scriptures are religious truth, he was saying his teachings are the real right religion.
Thy Word (Hebrew Scriptures) are religious truth - John 17:17. Jesus explained those Scriptures for us.
Our religious organizations in the United States have often lined up in support of military action, particularly when it involved nations not made up of mostly Caucasians and/or christians.

When an 18 year old dies in battle, no big deal, he goes to heaven. Yet, what evidence is there for this ridiculous claim? The fact is that 18 just lost the only existence we honestly know of. I'm not an expert, but you sound as if you are bumping into a wall with no plan to get over or through it. What this would have to do with death, I don't know. If believing there is an afterlife floats your boat, stick with it.

I find Jesus ' words at Matthew 5:5 to be the ' grand prize ' because Jesus taught from the old Hebrew Scriptures and Matthew 5:5 connects to Psalm 37:9-11 that the humble meek people will inherit the Earth.
True, those like those of Luke 22:28-30 are offered heaven, but the majority of mankind ( John 3:13 ) are offered Earth.
Just as Adam was offered everlasting life on a beautiful paradisical Earth as long as he kept God's law.
So, Jesus, as Prince of Peace, will usher in global Peace on Earth among persons of goodwill.
That is a reason why we are all invited to pray the invitation found at Rev. 22:20 for Jesus to come !

Do you have a support system? From what you've told me you are doing everything you can right now to solve this. It might take some more time but keep at the doctor. I noticed in another post you said that death might be coming for you. Do you feel a sense of impending doom?
So, you deny that religions effect ones importance of this life past finding salvation? I was a Christian for more than 35 years jimmiej, I know the ropes. You are clearly being disengenuous on this.
