The question stands, why does Jesus cut such a threatening figure.
And what part of you is threatened?
You mean so threatening that people not sucked in by the lies and deceit of Christianity try to expose the lies and deceit of Christian, that sort of threatening?

That just comes from the ten lost tribes. One priest was brought back to Samaria to teach those Egyptians and Babylonians the religion of the ten lost tribes, the same religion that killed them all. 700 years later, we see that Samaritan woman claiming that her father was Jacob but her father WAS NOT Jacob, she told the same lie they all told for 700 years, that they were the new Israel, but they were not......Those same people ALSO waited upon their own particular Messiah that would not be of the Jews, and this religion simply came from that one priest brought back from the Assyrian exile from which Mohammed was taught. Mohammed ALSO began with Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles, but when the Jews wouldn't accept him, he changed his feasts JUST LIKE THE TEN TRIBES, JUST LIKE THE SAMARITANS AFTER THE TEN TRIBES, JUST LIKE THE CHRISTIANS, THEY ALWAYS DO THE SAME THING.

Israel's Cities Resettled by Foreigners ~ WHERE MOHAMMED OBTAINED HIS RELIGION{my opinion} .........2 KINGS 17..........10 TRIBES TAKEN, AND EGYPTIANS AND BABYLONIANS PUT IN, AND NOW A PRIEST WOULD BE BROUGHT BACK FROM THE TEN LOST TRIBES TO TEACH THESE NEW SUPPOSED ISRAELIS.
…26So they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying, “The peoples that you have removed and placed in the cities of Samaria do not know the requirements of the God of the land. Because of this, He has sent lions among them, which are indeed killing them off.” 27Then the king of Assyria commanded: “Send back one of the priests you carried off from Samaria, and have him go back to live there and teach the requirements of the God of the land.” 28Thus one of the priests they had carried away came and lived in Bethel, and he began to teach them how they should worship the LORD.…

That woman at the well had 5 husbands, and these are 5 men of God where Gentiles had been placed next to the seed of God to become submissive virgins living with their husbands.

Jesus knew she had 5 husbands and he knew each one of their names, but the man she was presently living with was not her husband because she was not married to Judah.

Jesus came as the 7th husband who came offering a betrothal to those people living in the land of Joseph, Galilee of the nations, the 7th bridegroom God had sent the world and now the 8th has come, and he is of the 7.

Are Christians really that naive that they cannot believe Pilate would have offered Jesus a deal to save his life in exchange for raising dead Roman soldiers maimed or killed in battle, as well as feeding whole legions of thousands of soldiers out on the battlefield??????

Pilate, a dedicate procurator to Rome would have realized that with someone like Jesus on Rome's side Rome could conquered the whole world without losing a single man. Not a single soldier would ever have to die again. They would have had an endless supply of food for everybody. No more death, no more disease, no more starvation for the entire empire.

Yet we have not a word of such a deal being offered to Jesus during his interrogations with Pilate. Pilate displays not the slightest bit of interest in getting Jesus on Rome's side. He just frees Barabbas, a known enemy to Rome, and then crucifies the most valuable asset Rome has!!

Can you imagine what would have happened to Pilate when Tiberius heard about it: "You killed a Jew who could raise people from the dead and feed thousands with nothing? Are you out of your mind, you traitorous numbskull?"

Unbelievable! Totally completely unbelievable!
Interesting point you are making.
Who could really know what was going through such persons mind.

Though,
I imagine that Pilates mind set from being born into a noble family and involved with a government built as a caste system would not listen to the testimonies of countless low class non educated miscreants.

And so what if a Roman soldier has his child healed.

Then we have the account of what Pilate said to Yeshua himself.
And that should be the red flag for any sain person in this day and age.
Basically Pilate threatened, or attempted to extort our Lord with subtlety.
It went something like,"I have the authority to set you free."

Perhaps not,
given herods house record of cruelty. There is room for speculation.
It's possible that more was going on between Pilate and Herod.
even enemies work together to kill the innocent.

Read a few psalms lately?

There are stories he and Joseph of Arimathea, who

Sorry, if this has already been mentioned.
hgh,
was that before or after he new Yeshua was going to be killed?

Yes, but according to the account Pilate's extortion was to get Jesus to talk to him:

Quote:
"Do you refuse to speak to me?" Pilate said. "Don't you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?" John 19:10
Also you have to remember, this conversation is pure hearsay based on stories that had been circulating in countless different forms for a century. Nobody was around to testify this was the actual conversation--if indeed any such conversation actually took place.

Hearsay?
How so,?

After all, you profile Pilate as likely to be a golden egg laying goose take advantage of the situation kind of person.
Don't you think Pilate would use that sort of statement in front of countless subjects to exert His Noble position.
Just seema to me a person like that would love an audience.

A good source of info on what Pilate's character was really like comes from Philo of Alexandria and Josephus. They portray Pilate as a ruthless tyrant and....well, read the short article

Quote:
The Pilate of history was a vicious and paranoid tyrant who had no hesitation in putting people to death without trial. Pilate’s reluctance in the gospels to crucify this articulate Jewish irritant contrasts so much with what is known about him from historical sources that it seems certain that later editors ‘doctored’ the gospels to deflect blame away from Rome.
The real Pilate was a ruthless tyrant, not a kindly ditherer | David Lawrence Preston

You can research the matter to confirm my stance or do what most Christians do around here and just post a curt, "You're full of it" and then bury their heads in the sand. But most scholars agree that the gospel writers wrote their own version of the trail using the previous gospel before them and then elaborating the story.
