I've never once seen a Methodist come to my door to convert me. Not sure where you live that it's common. Just doesn't happen in my area.
Occasionally, people from mainstream denominations have come to our door proselytizing and passing out literature. I can't remember which one was here last, but there are Methodist, United Methodist, Presbyterian, Disciples of Christ, Baptist (2 of those), Nazarene, SDA, Catholic, Church Of Christ, and a New Creations Fellowship, all within a mile of our house. The Islamic Center is another 1/2 mile away. The SDAs don't come down our street because they have a member down the block. The big independent church out by the highway doesn't come down our street either. One of the teachers at their Christian School lives across the street.

You should take some one of the Baptists or Presbyterian up on the invitation to church.
And just where do you think all of these "real Christians" I named got their beliefs on deification from?
