We can get distracted by pretty things ...as children we can get hurt and push another down in the sand box...

I think your essence is pure and innocent. Mine, too.
We go astray sometimes, not always..and our conscience gets to us.
Some in prison have been so wounded by others that their thinking is clouded with their pain that has turned into anger.
But, inside deep in their hardened heart is still a pure little kid..
Note: This isn't in the Christian section so I think we all know Bible quotes.
The question is clearly do YOU think...YOU....not what someone else thought and wrote.
Are we weak? Sure...but , born wicked? That's the question here.

IMO, We are all born on the same spectrum of innocence. No one is born a sinner or guilty without doing any sin.
However, we do have the ability to do a lot of good things, and ability to do a lot of bad and wicked things.
It’s then up to our upbringing, our nature, our social environment (and many other factors), that may influence the choices we make (either to do good things or do wicked things).
I think, hidden deep inside everyone’s heart we all naturally have a scale to judge things and know whether they are good or wicked. Sometimes it’s obvious to us, and other times we need reminders and wake up calls to recognize and use that scale.
Ah, I could have said heart and mind, I suppose...entire being?
Tell me, W C, when your heart gets broken that it moves blood through the body...as if that is all it is.

Apart from Gods influence- yours, mine and everyones heart is wicked. You are going by your emotions- emotions lie to us. Think of decisions you've made based on emotion? How many people married the wrong person based on emotion?

Probably nearly as many who become "born again" Christians because of their emotional turmoil.
As humans we are subject to a whole host of influences... some are from above (heavenly), others from below (wicked). You are asking what *I* think. I think that when we are born into the condition of humankind (i.e., when we exit our mothers' wombs), God maintains us, guides us, guides our parents, etc. God made us and the world perfect. However, it is up to the individual to claim that heritage... through consecrated lives and with the help of God's grace.
