So? Try to get away from the idea of Everything happening according to a pre -determined plan. There is no reason other than chance that any of us are here.

I've never declared anything happened according to a predetermined plan.

Right now, we're trying to figure when one comes into existence or if they've always existed.

So it was. Ok. I'll keep out of this and let you two go at it.

Try again.
I do think the egg came first. It is what allowed living things to move from a wet habitat to a dry habitat back in the days. For sure the chicken came second.

What laid/created the egg? No one with a bellybutton seems to know.

Last edited by gabfest; 11-15-2018 at 04:12 AM.. Reason: added bellybutton refrence.

The first egg? It was not a chicken. I don't even think the first egg looked like the eggs we know today. You are making me go back to the Carboniferous days.

What incubated the first egg?

It doesn't make sense, but that can be what makes it interesting. Some of what I find fascinating about are the paradoxes. In Christianity, the Immortal dies. Jesus says a lot of things that seem the opposite of logical in his parables. That way of thinking can be applied to real life. Doing the opposite of what you normally do. Look at something from the other side. Go north in the winter.

Sometimes with a little faith, doing what doesn't make sense makes sense.
Nice post.

I often wonder about Jesus's audience during his time. Did they just not think outside of the box, hold on to superstitions, or keep negative thoughts about themselves? They needed somebody to show them differently?

Well, I would have to do some rereading in that period but I would like to stick with your original point, which is that the creator is greater than the created.

In the case of the amniotic egg, this allowed living creatures to move from a wet habitat to a dry habitat, thus giving the advantage to the genes of the incubator, and not to the actual incubator. So I think when we talk about what is greater, the discussion should focus on the genes that successfully passed on from incubator to egg and lead us here today.

Thus you've always existed in some state? at least to this point in time?
