I'm sorry you don't like it. I admire Clintone's effort for its simplicity and honesty. Given that all religions were, at their inception, the creation of one or more humans who were seeking that Truth (giving the benefit of the doubt here, and ignoring the outright charlatans).... why not just admit their origins? This would relieve us all of the charade that there are special people (e.g., prophets) among us who have a direct pipeline to their god or gods, that there is one true faith, that one set of man-made beliefs is any better than another, etc, etc.

Putting it another way, when the world already has several thousand religions, what's a few more?

Nonsense. “God” is a subjective term. Our species landing on a distant planet where there may be Stone Age humanoids, would likely be considered a god. It is not impossible to think that our species could advance enough to reflect the Q on STNG in a million years.
